Nihilistic thoughts are forever haunting me. But I've learned to just try to live a life as best as I can. Try to do things that make me happy. I don't know why but I have a feeling that I'm getting closer to being the person I keep imagining myself to be. Hopefully it only gets better from this point on.

I almost had my first panic attack in a year while lifting weights today...

:mjlol:

But I calmed down, and the panic feeling was gone in a matter of seconds, and back to lifting weights I went...

I just had another panic attack, but this time at work. But it was a "controlled" panic attack if that makes sense. Boss let me off an hour early. I hope this doesn't mean my panic attacks are resurging. I gotta nip this in the bud, or this could give me employment issues. Luckily I'm way more Psychologically prepared for these than I was in 2013.....The dark days. But still, it sucks having these.

What triggers your panic attacks?

I have a history of asthma. And anytime I feel lingering chest tightness it sends automatic signals to my brain that cause panic. I've been going hard in the gym this week, so chest and back pain is normal for me. But today, combined with all the pollen in the air, my chest and back felt abnormally tight. I sucked it up for most of the day, and it just got really worse at the last hour. So the boss made me tea, and i started to feel better.

Oh wow. I have asthma too but yours sound much worse than mine. Do your boss let you take breaks when it happens?. When I was younger, my asthma was much worse and my doctor told me that whenever I had breathing problems or tightness, to ask for an immediate break from any kind of physical activity so I can gather myself mentally and physically. And that may include taking my inhaler or getting on my asthma machine.

My asthma isn't bad at all. Matter of fact it's under control. but I had my first panic attack in 2013 while playing b-ball, but I thought it was an asthma attack. Since then, any symptoms that harken back to asthma, trigger panic attacks.

Hmm...I had bad asthma as kid. I wonder if my panic attacks are triggered by things I associate with my past asthma symptoms?
