this is pathetic :laff:, lol at the assertion that he's not following the flow of the game when distributing. nikkas will reach from space to discredit players:scust:. you'd think westbrook was rondo by reading this post, like hes passing up open shots for assist or some shyt

:laff::laff::laff::laff::laff::laff::laff::laff::laff::laff::laff:

Damn you clearly don't watch OKC.....Cuz he clearly did this shyt when they lost by 3 to the pacers earlier in the year........Dude was gunning so hard for that last assist in that last 2 mins that he was passing up wide open lay ups. Everyone on twitter was going in. It just wasn't a nat'l televised game so it didn't get much media attention.

Should have went a step further and showed what the scores of the games were when he went from passing and getting assists to taking shots and forgetting about passing after securing the triple double.

This could be a great way of showing why he doesn't deserve the MVP. For the record I am a Bruins fan and huge Westbrook but this thread is proving what a lot of people are saying about him.

You have an agenda but your point stands.
It makes what russ is doing a little less admirable. But just a little. Still great effort and if I'm honest, I still don't give a fukk and I continue to :salute: him.
Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder, NBA player stats

This is one of his links. I advice you to look through it as it literally displays not only good he's played, but how the team is better in everything while he's on the floor, including defense. :russ:

Yes, as I've said, this does NOT make Westbrook some scrub. He is a GREAT player. I think he is a better basketball player than everyone in the league other than Durant, Lebron, Harden, Kawhi, and Curry (and at least 1-2 of those are subject to debate). He definitely makes his team better.

But his season is only "historic" because he's been chasing the stats. Without the stat-chasing, it would be a great season, a top-5 MVP finish for sure, but it ain't no greatest season ever or even this year.

I already explained why. These threads are petty and serve no purpose. I dont know why you're looking for props for regurgitating contrarian reddit takes.

I saw that reddit take someone posted (though not till three months later) and other than the uncontested boards and the poor defense, I am NOT regurgitating it. That reddit take has nothing about the historic stat-chasing to get 10 assists/10 rebounds, nothing about the cheap assists later, nothing about the propensity to end up on 10/11 instead of 9, and no clear explanation for why wins lead to triple-doubles. And some of his stats on there I can't verify - I don't know if that's because he is making them up or if he has access to info I don't know how to find.

I see no problem with bigs letting him take the rebounds when there is no opponent around

In most cases, there's no "problem" with it except that he expends extra energy. It just isn't anything historic. If he were averaging Harden numbers we wouldn't call it a historic season, and the only difference between his numbers and Harden numbers are the extra rebounds his bigs let him take.

Sometimes, though, like when he lays off on defense or disturbs the free throw boards, it does have a negative effect.

Op is mad sabo is getting his team involved early?

No, I LIKE getting the team involved early, he should just play more within the game rather than basing his passing on the stat situation. It's not like I'm the first one to notice this even on the Coli - @GIL-Scott Heroin pointed it out literally months ago.

this is like hating on player a for avg 30 a game because a bulk of his points come when hes intentional fouled wiht a few minutes left in the game

he'd only avg 26 a game bla bla

Don't need to hate on it, but just point out it's not as impressive.

:russ: BRON STANS ARE DISGUSTING.

BRON IS THE PIONEER OF THE STAT PAD ERA
ALONG WITH HIS BFF CP3...

THE AUDACITY OF THESE nikkaS TO DISCREDIT A nikka AVERAGING
32, 11 & 10.

BRON NEVER AVERAGED 32PTS
BRON NEVER AVERAGED 10+ REBOUNDS
BRON NEVER AVERAGED 10+ ASSISTS

RUSS IS DOING IT ALL IN THE SAME SEASON
AND ITS EATING THEM UP.

If you catch Lebron doing any of the things I mention - grabbing late-game assists when game already over, leading the league in uncontested boards, changing his play when he hits a triple-double, slacking on defense to chase rebounds - call him out on it. I ain't never seen a player, Lebron or anyone else, do the shyt Westbrook is doing this season to the degree he doing it.

In fact, Lebron has been doing the exact opposite his whole career. How can you explain this otherwise?

LeBron James, King of the ‘Almost’ Triple-Double

:lolbron:

Seems like @The Dankster is The Boy Who Cried ‘Wolf.

Get off your high horse - you DAPPED every one of those takes I've posted about those players. Don't act like you don't agree with what I've had to say about Bird and Wilt and all them too. :russ:

Offensive mental awareness
Defensive mental awareness
Resiliency against pressure
# of open looks created for teammates
Loose balls fought for/ won
unassisted points scored
Balls tipped / plays broken up
FG % against tough defense
FG % against double teams
Fastbreak points accounted for (assisted on or scored)

:leon:

Not bad....I did not see that coming. :salute:

Could think of a few more things though - isolation defense, rim protection, FG% on open looks, minimizing turnovers.

Some you nikkas must not have jobs to do all this Data mining for free.:francis:
You must not have a job. So either my tax dollars are paying for your home internet, or my tax dollars are paying for you to waste time at the local library. Which is it?

I said before - my contract requires me to spend 12 hours in the office each week, but most of the time I ain't got shyt to do in the office besides wait for meetings. So....Coli time. :jawalrus:

Damn, I do have limits.

The only time I really checked the game score play by play at that moment was the Utah game, because I just happened to notice that he was up 13 when he hit the triple-double but remembered that game went down to the wire. So during the stretch where he took 13 straight shots, there was a 16-point swing from a 13-point lead to a 3-point deficit, then a 6-point swing back up to a 3-point lead. But I doubt there are swings like that every time.

I will say though, I'm not sure there would be enormously different results. When he's shooting for a triple-double, he's passing too much. When he's just taking shots, he's passing too little. BOTH scenarios are not as effective as they could be. In the ideal scenario, he would mix passing and shooting the whole game depending on the game situation - like, to be honest, Harden does.

Other thing that got me :russ: is that my whole post is how you can't look at one stupid stat and think that defines the game, and I explain it with videos and game situations and plays and actually WATCHING what is going on...

Yet the rock-brains in here are accusing ME of being the nerd focused on stats, when all they can do is regurgitate the same stat and believe that a stat alone can make a season historic.

First of all, I was only making a light joke of how others perceive you, despite our many differences I don't view you in that way at all (given the fact that some won't listen to you purely off the strength that they think you have an agenda, you're still being reasonable by making sound arguments). Because I know what it's like. It wasn't a shot at you at all. I understand your plight, tis all.

The purpose is explaining how those stats get out there. If Westbrook is chasing number this year (and NO ONE in 7 pages of comments has offered even the slightest rebuttal to that part of my argument), then that should be legit to point out.

I don't give a shyt about props - the people whose opinion I give a shyt about either appreciate what I have to say, or I'm not posting strong enough. I don't need to beg for shyt for them - either I get their props or I don't.

The shyt I'm laughing at is that I have SIX negs now from people who simply don't like that I posted facts about how Westbrook gets triple-doubles. I didn't shyt on any of them personally (okay, maybe one, so I'll say five negs), didn't tell no lies, didn't insult him as a person, and they fukking NEGGED me just for posting facts.

That just makes me :heh:. Do guys who post takes on Kobe or Lebron see their alerts fill up with negs afterwards just for posting plays and stats? :dahell:

Let's see, let's run down your list on players you've tried to marginalize to protect Bron:
MJ
Bird
Wilt
Kobe
Westbrook

I'm not even a Westbrook fan, but you're outta control. What's wrong with you?:scust:

What the hell? I have MJ as my #1 player ever OVER Lebron and have said that repeatedly, the Bird argument been done, and Westbrook is not and never will be considered in Lebron's league. And I don't know who the hell makes Wilt vs. Lebron comparisons - I've never even seen that shyt argued anywhere on these boards.

When I prop up Hakeem or Duncan, am I threatening Bron's legacy? :jbhmm:

Or is it just that any time I make a contrarian argument about any basketball player that you can't counter, you just try to deflect by mentioning Lebron? :patrice:

This. They'd rather whine and deflect. You notice that we've already got four haters who come here to bytch at me, yet not one of them able to counter a single argument in the thread?

Take the time to write out a response telling everyone what YOU think about what you didn't even read. :deadmanny:

Already caught two negs for it too. Neg me when you can't even make a rebuttal. :pachaha:

I got in some feelings. :pacspit:

LOL NOTICE HOW THE ONLY DUDE OUT OF THE ONES MENTIONED HE DIDNT TOUCH ON WAS KOBE LMAO
