The MCU might have a problem they don't know about yet.

Captain Marvel (Shazam) outsold Superman significantly until Fawcett comics folded, and dc buried the character for decades because of it.

Superman WAS a big deal complete with TV shows and radio shows, but he had peers for sure.
I'll rest on that note.
but just for fun for the people who still think he was a-list back then. see if any old person you know can name the actor for the superman tv show back in the 40 or if they even remember watching it.
I'll give you B-list at best.

Fam just cause the show was shytty cause they couldn’t properly do it right cause they didn’t have animations and spider man couldn’t been seen swigging from buildings don’t mean people didn’t know who spider man was.

it’s a reason super hero movies so much better now. Cause you can do them properly.

What does this have to do with anything? :mindblown:

Superman is THE superhero. Shazam was very SLIGHTLY more popular than him for a couple years in the '40s but soon after that Superman let Shazam in the dust. Superman is a larger than life character. Every modern superhero has Superman to thank because he's their grandaddy.

He was a pop culture icon long BEFORE the 1978 Donner/Reeve film.

No he wasn't. He had an audience. His was popular with his fans. He wasn't iconic

I agree but thats not the point. He stuff wasn't even on par with contemporary productions. there wasn't any 20,000 leagues under the sea quality superman films in the 50s either.

The only thing I'm really concerned about is BP2

Captain Marvel 2 will probably be a dud

The most important thing for the foreseeable future is how they introduce mutants...they will probably put Deadpool in the MCU through Multiverse of Madness

But the X-Men deserve a FRESH START.

IDGAF about Hugh Jackman because IMO all the Fox X-Men movies were a constant attempt to fix a mistake.

My guess is that something happens between now and the next Antman where universes die and/or are merged together and that's how we hopefully get introduced to the concept of the X-Gene being a thing

Kevin Feige said that there's a Deadpool 3 coming, it'll be apart of the MCU and will be R-rated. However, it won't come out until either 2023 or 2024.

How did they mishandle Black Panther?

honestly by spreading his attributes around in an attempt to bolster other characters. they took his intellect and gave it to shuri then made him look rather passive in his own movie rather than how stern and on point he was he was in civil war

OK but shouldn't such a claim be results oriented? Some people may have not liked it but the majority could care less. The movie was very successful.

the movie was successful yes, but the points have been brought up constantly since it came out. tchalla was second fiddle in his own movie and near unrecognisable from the character we saw in civil war. he was so non effective that people believed that killmonger had a point

OK, I don't see how it means anything. It's just a disgruntled minority talking about it alot. BP gained popularity after his movie not lose it.

Didn't cure Chadwick of his cancer or Shuri or her anti vax beliefs.

People Underestimate how HUGE the BP franchise was for the future of the MCU, and now that it is in shambles, it will be a struggle to put a new face as recognizable as Ironman as the new head of The Avengers.
