Yeah, this Vanguard in ME2 ain't it. :francis:

Charge seems to only work sometimes (I've triggered cooldowns even though the charge failed) and it's usefulness is situational as fukk.

Seems the best way to fight is to fight as a poor-man's Adept until you have only 1 or 2 opps left.

Maybe it was because I was new to the ME Series, but the map for the first game was rather confusing and I unintentionally finished the game earlier than I planned without doing much exploring. I didn't really know what I was doing and chose Kaidan over Ashley, but kept Wrex alive though. I think the only major decision that I didn't do was romance any of the characters.

I got more invested in the 2nd one when I learned that your actions/inactions can cause teammates to die :lupe:

Your actions in all 3 games can cause teammates to die, moreso in 2 and 3. You have been warned. :demonic:

IMO I would run back ME1 from a previous save and complete everything to your satisfaction.

Missing an assignment or even making 1 "bad" decision can ripple through a whole trilogy playthrough.

The whole VS (Ashley vs Kaidan) isn't that big of a deal. I don't RP as chicks and don't date dudes, so I'm picking the space PAWG every time. YMMV. :dame:

Whichever you didn't save, I'd recommend making a new ME3 save with them alive just to get both bonus powers.

I did that just to get Reave unlocked for all characters then deleted that and ole buddy went back to being space dust.

I messed up a few of the missions on Noveria, so I'm going to run back ME1 from a previous save for that alone. I also didn't really interact with the characters much on the Normandy between missions in the first one as I didn't really really know what I was doing. I haven't started the 2nd one yet, so I should be good.

No clue how yall are struggling with Vanguard. It's OP as hell in the sequels (especially ME3) ME2's Insanity difficulty is infinitely more challenging than ME3's and the only place I remotely struggled was the Collector Base.

Struggling? Nah, just don't see what the hype is about. :unimpressed:

shyt was straight trash in ME1. There's not a single thing it can do the other classes don't do better. How you a "close-combat specialist" that's not good in close combat? :russ: Soldier and Infi are eating Krogan melees while you're getting sent to the great Mass Relay in the sky. Before the Imm nerf we were meleeing Thresher Maws to death. Not only that, but it starts off much slower than the other combat classes.

ME2's universal cooldown makes it even weaker IMO. Only has 3 native active powers all sharing the same cooldown and two ammo powers. No innate way to deal with shields or barriers, very meh against synthetics, and it's signature power glitches. It be dudes in range with no obstacles in the way and VanShep be like
Nah Chief Keef GIFs | Tenor
, can't charge. :skip:

If we're keeping it a bean, the Vanguard isn't "OP" compared to:
  • Soldier in 2: Ad Rush does everything Charge does but better, and they get ARs and Snipers off rip
or
  • Infiltrator in 3: cloak buffs weapon and power damage by 90% and can be immediately canceled to bypass increased cooldown times

shyt might be better than Engineer in 1 and 2, and I can see how folks think it's more fun than a Soldier or Infiltrator or other classes, but let's not pretend likes it's objectively stronger, especially in 1 or 2.

I wonder what percentage of folks claiming Vangawd are actually playing on Insanity :sas1: . Only 14% of folks on TrueAchievments have the achievement for beating the game on Insanity. A buncha cats saying it's OP while playing on the lower difficulties doesn't mean much to me. :yeshrug:
