It's one of the unintentionally funniest feuds. Bischoff was on commentary whenever they had to cut promos on each other.I loved it but Mach is admittedly my all time favorite so there is an obvious bias. But I dug the edge they gave his character, and Gorgeous George was perfect to go along with it.
He probably got too much of a push in the summer of 99, I remember many a Nitro those months, when the show was 3 hours, that it seemed like he was constantly in a segment.
But when you look at what else they had to offer at the top of the card, he was as good an option as anyone else.
All of that said, the feud with Rodman was terrible
The Maestro
They had this motherfukker go through the entire entrance looking like a damn fool only to cut a worked shoot in the ring. fukkin' Vince Russo! "They've dressed me up like uncle fester to play trick or treat all year long!"
Mach was fully embracing that HOH lifestyle by then
The lights would go out and there would be a gong sound whenever Midnight came out.Made a thread about a specific women’s match, but the general women’s division in WCW was horrific. They had a clear Chyna ripoff in Asya, Midknight who started teaming with Booker T and feuding with Stevie Ray, and basically every single Nitro Girl given hasty Power Plant training and thrown out in the ring. The best in ring women in WCW between 99-01 were Madusa (who was wrestling in the CW division for a bit), Daffney, and Mona (who dipped to the WWF after just a few months. They put all these women in the ring with no development and didn’t even bother to add a women’s title
