Essentially got told today that there's no headcount for me upon conclusion of my internship. It was a mid-point performance meeting. Manager said I've gone above and beyond in demonstrating competency, initiative, and thoroughness but wanted to be honest about realistic expectations.
Public Affairs/Communications is notorious for running the leanest operation at the company, so getting an offer is a big deal. The most recent comms specialist position received over 400 applications.
I appreciate her candidness. I'm set to graduate August 9th with the internship ending August 11th, so I'd rather not be strung along. I'll find greener pastures elsewhere. Back to Chicago.
