that BCC angle important if it got them a boost in ratings, tho the turn of the hour may have had some effect. still they need to do well with that storyline if its gonna draw viewers. the second hour was def better than the first but those that tuned out missed it. especially the great match that ricochet and mortos had. not a wise choice to start with jericho vs oc but better to get that out the way quick i guess.

Breh you keep trying to overthink every quarter hour as if the segment that got a spike or a big decrease means something but it still the same damn pattern it's always been for the most part. Even if an angle/feud got 1 big quarter one week, it doesn't really translate to the next show so it's a moot point. It's been that way for such a long time that it's really a futile exercise to try to overthink why it goes up or down :pachaha:

Show starts with Big Bang Theory lead-in, second segment drops (sometimes in a major way), next couple segments lag until the top of the hour when the rating picks back up and then the show drops each segment after that with the main event typically the lowest of them all. Rinse and repeat.

The BBT lead in taking a hit most 2024 is the biggest news of the year, imo :pachaha: Went from steadily giving AEW a 900-850k lead to high 700s (most of the time) since April/May.

Most people don't understand how ratings work, anyway. You got dudes on here saying "AEW is only watched by 400K people if you take away BBT" when all you have to do is look at the top of the second hour and see that it's usually higher than most of the other segments...

If people really wanted to discuss the data points, we'd start by acknowledging that a lead in doesn't help much if the second hour doesn't see a spike from the 45 minutes that came before it. :russ:

same thing happens to the overrun at the end too funny enough, when its Modern Family after the overrun is mostly fine, when its Impractical Jokers it falls off a cliff

Also... 'Dynamite' gains 18-49 viewership off whatever the lead in is and is higher in that demo than whatever is following AEW.

People don't discuss key demographics and where 'Dynamite' ranks on Cable because it goes against the overall narrative they want to paint. The reason WBD is likely giving an increase in their TV deal is because of those numbers and nothing to do with overall viewership.

If someone really wanted to talk about ratings, they would talk about the things that TV partners and advertisers care about.

Are the demo ratings for AEW down? Yes, of course they are. But not enough to hamper a deal it appears...

i did some research and came across these quarters from a couple weeks ago. Look at the 9:15 slot at 597k then the 9:45 one with 675k. And who was involved there? Claudio, Yuta, and Pac aka BCC related stuff. To have a 75k plus increase on the second hour like that isn't too common. But BCC raised up the ratings that episode. Even earlier they had a 614k to 651k rise in a quarter that had a Moxley promo. Think that was the one where he told Schiavone it wasn't his company anymore. This might've been the show right before All Out. But seeing those ratings boost up when BCC has been involved tells me that its a storyline that draws viewers so they need to make sure its done right.
