Anna Jay looked solid over in Japan, I think she's ready to come back soon.
I'd like AEW to give these wrestlers more time than 1-3 months runs. An excursion should last a year at the very least. Even though the intention is the right one and I'm glad these wrestlers can at least work other places to improve at their craft, getting 1 or 2 tours ain't enough to make a substantial change in a wrestler, imo. They will learn some stuff and get new experiences that are much needed, but they don't really get to try shyt out and experiment like they should.

It's interesting how honest and open Mercedes has been on social media since arriving in AEW. I think it's to combat all of the nonsense "rumors" that neckbeards (and unfortunately black incels :francis: ) try to spread about her or the locker room.

Every time some BS pops up (like business dealings or supposed drama) she's already written about it and it helps control the people looking for clicks.

More wrestlers should do this.

Leila done with AEW or are they allowing her to train in NJPW?
Probably just training, which I'm not mad at, have these folks do some excursions in other promotions and perfect their craft since they're not trying to do any live shows at the moment (which they need to, but I think attendance is playing a role in dictating that atm)
Yeah I think she is probably training there when not wrestling with AEW..she was training/wrestling in OVW so I'm wondering if this was her call or a political move..

Hangman and JJ since the Owen tourney.

Saraya and Hayter since All In and even before when they were in a faction.

Mariah and Mina tho not officially a story or feud since Mariah/Toni and before that when they were in Stardom.

Ricochet and Ospreay since njpw and ospreay the one who called out Ricochet to come to aew a while ago.

BD and BCC plenty of history as a faction and even since WWE days they can draw back on.

Not to mention everything else like Willow and stat or Hangman and Swerve that's been put aside for now.

But all those I mentioned have been stories over the long term, not from one week to another.

I don't know if people expect these stories to be a year or multiple years or what. Motherfukkers gonna want Cody vs Roman or either one vs Bloodline for next few years thinking long term needs to be like a decade.

Fans gotta figure out what they consider long term cuz everyone's views may be different on the subject.

Some people don't like -and others join in because it's a perfect avenue for trolling- when they see random matches on TV, regardless if they are good or not. AEW's TV is sustained by those kind of matches more than most promotions so it's kind of inevitable that they perception on them are those matches and not the feuds that build towards the PPVs, which always have the top matches develop weeks and months long stories.

things that didn't happen on AEW TV isn't storytelling. Not everybody watches Stardom, New Japan, or even early 2010's WWE.

If someone didn't follow the indies or Japanese wrestling, all they'd know about Ricochet/Ospreay is they've had a couple tense backstage interactions since he came to AEW. It wouldn't be something they'd see as having much history behind it. It's one thing to have an easter egg or a wink and a nod to fans who know, but it's not something that should be a cornerstone of storytelling unless you have the footage and can run video packages getting people up to speed like with Nigel/Bryan

It's the same thing with NXT. 1M less people watch NXT than Raw and Smackdown, if you're gonna bring someone up to the main roster you can't assume everybody is going to know them, you gotta do vignettes and other stuff to bring the audience up to speed.
