It's not only a Tokyo Dome show, it's the day after Wrestle Kingdom so they are asking Japanese fans that currently barely give a single a fukk about New Japan to buy another ticket for a promotion they barely even know :dead:

I had figured they'd maybe do a package deal for tickets and they really should. Who cares what the gate is if the goal is to expose more people to AEW... get people in there..

Yeah, they gonna need every trick in the book. I wonder if booking Okada vs Omega for the Continental Title gives them a boost.

The funny thing is that TK should save Okada for this 1/5 show and not let New Japan book him for the 1/4 show.

That was the last time they were in the State Farm Center and they did 4100.

Now some people are still there, some aren't or not active. But looking at that card and the roster that exists now, there could easily be booked a much better episode of Dynamite, for them to not open more seats up. Wrestletix apparently doesn't go that far back to see what sections were open but they def can do a much better show than that.

I'm not sure you can plan on Omega. His health is a real concern. Obviously they have the inside knowledge but it's not something you can rely on given what he's been dealing with.

maybe the japanese would be excited to see their old favorites like okada, ospreay, even kenny if he is healed by then, that they'll show up. be like a big coming home party for okada, that could def help.

The last report we had on Kenny is that he had surgery in May and was expected to have a 4-5 months recovery. I know his health is a toss up but if everything goes right he should be ok for the January show.

And I'm not saying they should "plan" on having him, I'm saying they better hope he is available to put him in a match that can sell tickets because him and Okada (maybe Ospreay too) are the only ones that can make Japanese fans spend their money on AEW.

Came across this and I will say that BD has had an incredible run of matches. But that's not what caught my eye.

Maybe its me but I see a full circle aka call back type of moment. A long term booking type of thing you might say. Last October, title Tuesday, BD vs Swerve for #1 contender of tnt championship. Who did BD just beat?

But then the next match, BD vs Christian for TNT title. Who just won the casino gauntlet match?

Could be nothing but i just found it interesting how he wrestled Swerve and Christian back to back in October and now he just won the title off Swerve and Christian has a cash-in opportunity that he just won for that title.

Sending Takeshyta for the G1 to introduce him to the NJPW audience was a great move if it leads to a big match on Jan 5. Either he or Okada has to win the C2
