The sales numbers are very odd. A lot of fans including me used the $100 voucher to get this game. The voucher was for two games. I don’t even play the other game. So it’s like I spent $100 on Zelda without getting any collectible shyt. So how do they count the voucher? They just say its considered spending $70 or $50 since they advertise that your getting $20 off Zelda. I’ll assume the latter…but in reality they made a killing off them $100 vouchers cause it drove up sales for games whose sales were probably lagging behind.

Sony CEO says he wants to invest in a IP aka a brand that can survive, 30, 50 100 years like Mario.

But I'm the crazy "Xbox" Nintendo Stan

nikka you be saying the most obvious shyt and then bumping a thread patting yourself on the back.

Mario is associated with Nintendo’s branding because it’s the biggest exclusive franchise to a platform. Your word salad shyt don’t work over here :mjlol:

Nothing you say will absolve Microsoft of having to make good games

It's all obvious and retrospect huh? Yet y'all nikkas argue me down.

I say exclusives are a important but not the end all be all, y'all say "but Nintendo" I then say Nintendo is on a different level they have brands and y'all proceed to teehee and hahaha about how it's the same thing.

And yet, you still trying to attribute Mario and Zelda success to being associated with exclusivity.

That ship has sailed a long time ago. It has nothing to do exclusivity. They are house hold brands that happen to be exclusive. Sony doesn't have anything like this and neither does MS. Outside of the systems themselves.

Somehow you always manage to tie Microsoft into the Convo when this has nothing to do with Microsoft :mjlol:

PlayStation has Ratchet and Clank. They just need to be more aggressive with Ratchet and Clank like Nintendo is with Mario. Ratchet and Clank has so much potential!!! I remember playing it on PS3 back in the day it felt like I was playing a Cartoon CGI movie. I haven't played the last two games but I bet the quality is just as high. They also had a movie right? It probably didn't perform well because there wasn't sufficient build up or hype around it compared to Mario movie which had all these famous stars and controversy.

Unfortunately, the squandered the R&C movie and subsequent game that tied into it got a bit of flack because of the movie as well (I think the game was actually still solid tho IIRC). But yeah, if they put more effort into the movie, it could work again. The games are still A-1.

You don’t even know what you’re arguing, Nintendo’s prominence in gaming is tied to their exclusive IP of over 30 years being quality titles, that once again, you can only play on nintendo hardware. Mario and Zelda are synonymous with Nintendo for that reason.

You think “brands” are created out of nowhere and that the reason the playstation is more popular than the xbox is because of marketing or some other hocus pocus spells, not because sony has largely tied big hit games to their platform just like Nintendo has.

This is why we tell you you’re wrong, you think you came up with the term “branding” and now we’re all just now catching on. No, nikka…what we’re telling you is Xbox needs actual IP tied to their platform like they had in the 360 days that built their reputation. You don’t get great “branding” without a good product, as of right now xbox is lacking big IP so no one cares.

with you, it always ties back to xbox. Everything you say in defense or in promotion of nintendo is used to shield xbox or downplay playstation.

also, im not sure what ratchet and clank has to do with the convo, it will never be an IP on the level of mario, no platformer will. Thats not what sony means when they say they want longevity in IP.

They already have IP that are almost 30 years old, Gran Turismo and Twisted Metal are pushing the 30 year mark, God of War i almost 20 and R&C is 21. If they launch a new Syphon Filter that will be 30 years old

The only thing sony need to do is keep making hit games

He said he wants enduring IP. I’ve only played one Ratchet and Clank and it was on PS3. That shyt.. I give it a 10/10. 5 fukking stars. That game was perfect. It made me want to play more of the games etc. I think it has potential for an enduring IP. It has great platforming just like Mario. In some ways it’s better than Mario.
