Aang seems better than Korra to me. She's a great bender but she's not a great fighter. She stays struggling against normal foes. Zander was a new bender and in her Avatar state she should have made short work of him even with the poison.
Zaheer was no ordinary new bender though. He studied air bending years before he acquired the ability. Without the poison, I believe she would've gave him that work.

I can't really say Aang is a better fighter. He was great at running away from confrontation. It wasn't until he started to earth bend, that he finally faced his problems head on.

You just can't look past nostalgia, if anything it's the opposite.

The people Aang fought were "normal" compared to the people Korra is going up against.

You have Korra going up against people who can bloodbend in broad daylight, who can steal your bending, Dark Avatars, evil spirits, giant robots, dudes who can fly, lavabenders, benders that can blow you up by looking at you, etc. Aang on the other hand was struggling against arrogant but otherwise normal firebenders and earthbenders with no special powers.

Oh you mean that in the time frame of the series that took place over the course of 1 year, where he was fighting an army and on the run for his life, he managed to learn what it takes most Avatars decades of there life to learn in the best of conditions with private teachers. That's what you're trying to sell as an L. Oh yeah he was also 12 while he was doing this.

Korra on the other hand started at age 3 with private home tutors didn't see any real action until she was 16 and had 3 elements mastered and she still out here catching L left and right.

Alright lets break this down one by one.

The bloodbender, something Aang fought once in fact he fought the original. Taking away bending again something Aang faced in Tai Lee but she could only do it to some one temporarily. Dark Avatar was Korra's own damn fault, she should have stopped that nikka when he was a regular ass waterbender but she was too busy taking L's and following his lead against her own father. Evil spirits, Aang fought one of very same evil spirits that Korra did and got out clean but otherwise kept it cool with the spirits because that is part of the avatar job description. Giant robots, I would give you this one if Aang hadn't fought tanks and ships solo. Dudes who can fly, half of Aang's fight against the fire lord they were both flying and Aang had to worry about getting burned by fire or hit by lightning and was still in a position to kill dude with his own lightning but he choose not to. Lavabenders I'll give you. Combustion benders, which is what old girl who could blow you up by looking at you was called, because the technique was named after Combustion man the first dude that could do that who was sent to assassinate Aang and crew but ended up dead.

You say that Aang didn't fight the type of enemies Korra did but the truth is he fought people that were the first to do these things. Back before the world knew these things were possible.

yeah but aang either ran or was getting washed by those enemies.

he didn't face evil spirits on the same level korra did:comeon:

the entire group couldn't do anything against combustion man they just evaded and ran whenever they fought him and korra never fought Pl'i anyway

not to mention you say aang fought those types of enemies and I'm not saying he didn't but the scale was weaker. the combustion woman could control her explosions directions while the original guy couldn't and aang didn't fight evil spirits on the same level as korra

on average korra's enemies have been stronger

Just throwing this question out there, but who do yall think had the better crew? Which Team Avatar was better either during the show or potentially at their prime?

"BoomerAang squad, Fearsome Four, Team Avatar"

Avatar Aang (Air, Water, Earth, Fire bending)
Katara (Healing waterbender, Bloodbender, Plantbender)
Sokka (No bending, strategist, swordsman, boomerang)
Toph (Best Earthbender ever, OG metalbender, vibration location Technique)
Suki (Kyoshi Warrior)
Zuko (Firelord Prince)
Appa the Air Bison
Momo the Winged Lemur

Noteable additions during or after series: General Iroh aka Dragon of the West (Firebender) , Mai (Throwing Knives), Ty lee (Chi blocking techniques)

Could argue Iroh can be included in actual team.

Avatar Korra (Air, Water, Earth, Metal, Fire)
Mako (Firebender)
Bolin (Earthbender)
Asami (Future industries technology, 1 electricity glove)
Tenzin (Oldest living Airbending master)
Jinora (Airbending master, Spiritual prodigy)
Naga the Polar bear dog
Oogi the Air bison
Pabu the Fire Ferret

Noteable additions during or After series: Lin Bei Fong (Earth/Metal bending), Suyin Bei Fong (Earth/Metal bending), Bumi (Military background, new airbender), Kaya (waterbender, healer), Tonraq (Waterbending master), Desna and Eska (Waterbending), Opal and Kai (Airbending)

Could argue Kai, Bumi and Lin Bei Fong can be included in actual team.

Who you got?

:ohhh: to that Korra/Wan comparison.

Each main Legend of Korra villain represents a different political ideology.

Even the more minor villains like Varrick (who is not always necessarily a villain) and the Earth Queen represent ideologies as well: Capitalism and Monarchy, respectively.
:ohhh:

No graphic for 'Democracy', though? :troll:

Raiko.png

Because not only does he deserve one, too, but he's also a 'minor enemy' at the best of times, and a 'major enemy' at the worst.

Each of those ideologies only came about because of the excesses and abuses of another ideology. Matter of fact, Varrick's capitalism and Amon's communism are both led by people who were trying to give nonbenders -- the 90% of the population -- a leg up and a voice in societies where the majority were oppressed by an elite. Raiko's Democracy manipulates both, but his system isn't perfect either since it
allows those in power to skim the fat.
