It's interesting how a lot of streamers and YTers feel like Abby is justified but Ellie is Lucifer in the flesh. Abby signed her friends death warrant when she drove that golf club up side Joel's head and was stupid enough to think his people would be too shook to get some getback. Just like Joel signed his when he killed her father. Abby ain't no hero, she's a murderer just like Ellie.

Exactly. I’m honestly finding it hard to care about Abbey in the same light as I do Ellie and the gang. I’ve watched Ellie, Joel, and Tommy grow before in a previous game. They just threw Abbey on me like I’m supposed to care about her diesel ass. She needed her own game without too much mention of Joel and Ellie until the end of the game.

Like I get her motives and their justified, but she’s an opp to me.

Shouldn't have pointed that knife at Joel

bcuz HE was TRULY in self defense mode...again joel entered the operating room guns drawn first...surgeon grabbed a scalpel and stood his ground...never advanced toward joel w/ the scalpel...again...joel could’ve kept the gun trained on him and went and easily gotten ellie

*edit*

you posted an even more damning example of how the scenario played out...as you can see joel EASILY took the scalpel out the surgeon’s hand...that should’ve been the end of the conflict right there...instead he stabbed him in his throat smh

They would have stabbed Joel if he had picked up Ellie.

So what was his cause of death?

Ignorance
as I said a million times when Joel walked into the operating room to take Ellie all he had to do was backed up :hubie:
but, no what did he do ... stupidly, jumped in front of Joel / grabbed a shank and put it to Joel face

:yeshrug: .... again wasn’t murder .... more .... like self-defense .... :manny:

That’s a huge reach...

He murdered her father. And now that we know how Ellie feels about it all, he didn’t even save her, he robbed her of having a purpose. She wanted to die in that hospital.
how is it a reach ?
her father didn’t have the right to take Ellie life & Ellie didn’t have the right to approve her life being taken (cause she was 14)

you’re still arguing this stupid fukking point as if you don’t know what the definition of murder is
How is it a stupid point when you still refuse to answer my original question

the disingenuousness of this comment is absurd lol
How is it being disingenuous when you refuse to answer my original question

——————————————
Again it’s a simple question
all I need to hear it is that simple yes or a simple no
and the question is.... for the millionth time

did Abby’s father have a right to take the life of a 14 year old girl ?

You are really trying to make it seem like it was black and white....like Joel had to save her from the firefly super villains lol. There is a reason he lied to Ellie and everyone else about what happened. He knows it was some fukked up shyt. He even executed Marlene at the end and now we see that she wasn’t a bad person at all.

The whole point of the first game was that it was a questionable decision and there are no good guys in that world. Everyone is a villain in someone else’s eyes. It came down to what benefited Joel vs possibly mankind. And playing as Joel you naturally choose his side.

Part 2 brings a new perspective and you see that from the firefly’s point of view what he did was awful. From Ellie’s point of view what he did was awful.

What Joel did was right for him and wrong to most other people. Just like what Abby did was right for her and wrong to most other people.

like real talk
The only way this revenge story would have worked
is if Marlene had some type of offspring that came back to get Joel
because Marlene was the only person that got done dirty out of the 1st game

So the doctor didn't have the right to take her life, Ellie didn't have the right to risk her life, but Joel who barely knows her and just met her a few months prior has the right to decide what happens to her?

Not even Marlene....who is her ACTUAL guardian, and was basically given Ellie by her mother to watch over her, she doesn't have the right either. But Joel, a random dude is the only person who can decide her fate.

Makes perfect sense :mjlol:

Downvotes on Metacritc User Rating that people know are fugazi, Trolls on YouTube with no faces or credibility :hula:Actually publications giving this 10/10 before it even came out + people who don't Hate the game just giving well thought out critique
The problem with internet dialogue is people don't have to quantify detractors.

A game selling 4 million in a week speaks to how little people detest it.

But, when ppl want to point out "fake internet outrage" they acknowledge how little the hate effected

But, when they want to write articles about bigoted, transphobic, sexist gamers, they make it seem like the game flopped.

Even this thread;

@kingofnyc :snoop: Is the only one who won't let go that people like/love this game--you need to chill a bit, breh

iu

:russ: This game couldn't have been more well received

Because people who don't think the game is a 10/10, aren't as unreasonable as access media claims they are, brother.

:hubie:
I don’t have a problem with people who like/love the game
I have a problem with them people who won’t admit the story/plot being terrible & not believable
the other aspects as far as the gameplay is supporting characters is more subjective : so i don’t get into that as much

My biggest problem with abby being the daughter of the surgeon that got killed was that the surgeon was clearly not a white man.

:francis:

Abby shouldn't be white.

NO - the dr doesn’t have that right
NO - a 14 year doesn’t have that right

and I don’t believe it was ever established that Marlene was Ellie caretaker/guardian
