He murdered her father. And now that we know how Ellie feels about it all, he didn’t even save her, he robbed her of having a purpose. She wanted to die in that hospital.

Her agency
All of that shyt is down to the adult who is fostering her and at the time it was Joel
She was placed in his and Tess' care and they are responsible for her. He made an adult decision for her because she is not even old enough even in contemporary times to make those types of decisions in an actual hospital.

Hell the fireflies even double crossed Joel and didn't pay him for delivering Ellie they just G checked him and said deal with it. He had every right to run in that hospital and take Ellie back

This game is not that deep they are just trying to change the circumstances of the first game very badly because Druckman apparently didn't like that the majority of the player base had no problem with Joel's actions.

Can we feel sorry for the pedophile cannibal from the first game for some DLC since apparently every character is no longer scum

Side-note (I haven't read all of this thread): I'm kinda surprised that for all its SJW uproar and whatnot I've actually seen very few complaints or criticisms for the character of Lev being transgender. Especially on the Coli I expected this to be a far bigger deal, lol.

You are really trying to make it seem like it was black and white....like Joel had to save her from the firefly super villains lol. There is a reason he lied to Ellie and everyone else about what happened. He knows it was some fukked up shyt. He even executed Marlene at the end and now we see that she wasn’t a bad person at all.

The whole point of the first game was that it was a questionable decision and there are no good guys in that world. Everyone is a villain in someone else’s eyes. It came down to what benefited Joel vs possibly mankind. And playing as Joel you naturally choose his side.

Part 2 brings a new perspective and you see that from the firefly’s point of view what he did was awful. From Ellie’s point of view what he did was awful.


What Joel did was right for him and wrong to most other people. Just like what Abby did was right for her and wrong to most other people.

lol, it's not a loud minority downvoting the game on Metacritic or spamming positive reviews with comments accusing they were paid off.

Easy Allies actually addressed their integrity in the YouTube comments of their review because folks were mass spamming accusations that their review was sponsored by Sony.

Downvotes on Metacritc User Rating that people know are fugazi, Trolls on YouTube with no faces or credibility Actually publications giving this 10/10 before it even came out + people who don't Hate the game just giving well thought out critique

The problem with internet dialogue is people don't have to quantify detractors.

A game selling 4 million in a week speaks to how little people detest it.

But, when ppl want to point out "fake internet outrage" they acknowledge how little the hate effected

But, when they want to write articles about bigoted, transphobic, sexist gamers, they make it seem like the game flopped.​

I think it’s getting a pass because it’s not thrown at us constantly, there’s one conversation about it, and they try to hide the slight pandering within the context of that particular factions beliefs/rules

debatable...joel came in the room assault rifle in hand w/ a flamethrower on his back...the surgeon then picks up a scalpel and stands his ground...joel who has been fighting hordes of infected and entire armies of men primarily armed w/ bricks and bottles could have EASILY disarmed that surgeon who was more than likely unskilled/far less proficient in hand to hand combat...joel used excessive force...that shyt was murder...he also murdered the sister in cold blood...shot her twice AFTER she dropped her weapon and no longer was an immediate threat to him...he got his justice eventually
