five hours in and I don't think this is for me. The mini-objectives feel tedious when I'm not engrossed into the setting or story. Didn't care for going from building A to building Z and throwing a cord over a gate to power a generator when I'm still wondering how the game didn't end a few hours ago.

the combat is challenging, fun. but you have to sit through a lot of walk and chats, investigating items and letters in order to access it. at least this has been the case in seattle. there is probably a point where things pick up soon, but if I'm already at hour five then I'm not eager to commit x more hours to find out when that is.

that said, I can see why others love it. If you don't mind the mini-objectives, are caught up in the setting/narrative, haven't read any spoilers and/or agree with the direction, impressed by the graphics then it's probably fun. being able to customize your own difficulty is a great feature as well.
In the defense of the game, it is fairly long(25 hours roughly or more depending on what you do) so 5 hours is pretty early on. I can see someone not liking the game though if the setting/story isn't grabbing them but it does get fairly heavy after you pass the part I know you're in(Seattle Day 1.) I'm not overly enthused by the mini hub like structure in the beginning as I don't particularly like post-apocalyptic settings but I know it's a journey so I push on as the setting is obviously not just there. You haven't encountered the humans yet where the story gets pretty heavy.

I like the comraderie of Ellie and Dina so far even tho Ellie is dry sullen and moody which is understandable. I think the biggest improvement is enemy AI especially humans. Most games have this singular patterned enemy interaction formula. For instance in AC all the enemies just have a set pattern they walk. Easy to track. And if you do get spotted, you run away and hide. after a min they will completely stop pursuing you and go back to their programmed patterns. Here the enemies have patterns but their actions are completely unpredictable. The humans are constantly paranoid. Head on a swivel. If you do get spotted the attention to detail is unlike any I’ve seen. Call outs. Always pursuing. You can hide but you gotta keep moving and find flank routes. And because of the low ammo/Ellie shytty aim especially without the proper perks moving past areas can be very difficult. Sometimes it takes me 5-7 mins just taking out 3 enemies(stealthy) I still haven’t ran into any other infected type beside runners and clickers. Still making my way to the TV station. But I’m confused. Someone in this thread said the game was short, easy, and I that i should be done by now :ohhh:

Yeah, I know exactly where you are. Right before the TV station is where you really get to see the dynamic battles shine. I went into an area that had clickers/runners. I opened the door, threw a bottle to make them hear me/see me and I ran out and hid and they came out and ended up fighting the WLF guys while I was just watching the fukkery from afar.

I had the goat interaction by the gas station were I was detected and 6 WLF were hunting me. All of the sudden they stopped pursuing and took up position cause a gang of clickers/runners came racing out the gay bookstore ( :dame: ) I picked them off while they were distracted with them. Too bad Dina was glitched on top of a light pole and I had to replay the encounter over :dame:

First hour of this game and feels like I’m playing a kojima game . Too many cutscenes, unexplained encounters and characters, and trying to be too cute like
snowball fighting with the kids [/spoilers]
