Where Kings Will Dream
This is movie of the year; wild how it tanked in the box office, but that’s probably due to lack of promotion. I didn’t even know this movie existed until I saw this thread :ohhh:

The ending scene where Le Gris clothes are being divided among those orphans and his body dragged on the ground from a cart, like Hector in the Iliad, in contrast to Jean being heralded and applauded was top notch cinema.

This is a good flick but there's no way this flick would've smashed at the box office regardless.

But

Ridley Scott did a great job here and most of the acting is good and the action especially the end fight is dope af. Gotta give credit.

This a great film, but I'm going to start bushing films with graphic and unnecessary rape scenes. No... I'm not invalidating the plot of the film centering rape. Just the unnecessary nature of filming a minute long rape scenes that should of happened off screen.

I don't need to see or want see such heinous act. Have some damn subtly. Some fukking weirdo Ridley Scott power trip porno fantasy. I don't what is so appealing with filming rape scenes. It's dehumanizing and no matter how hard you try to make it a revenge dynamic. It still looks like a joke and fantasy power trip on visual display. Especially, in a society where 1 in 4 women is sexually assaulted.

Then. The film injects unreliable narrations. So, why film a brutal minute long rape scene....

Having friends that are women with sexual assault tragedy and how some got ridiculed for it. Film just makes me want turn it off.

I'm tired of graphic rape scenes in general.

:mjlol: Crying about a rape scene, but ignoring the thousands of men in the film forced to fight to the death for a ruler who would kill them or destroy their livelihood if they refused. All she had to do was not open the door for nikkas that aren’t her husband.

What does that having to do with me being fed up with brutal on screen rape scenes... Maybe if they started raping dudes on screen like in Pulp Fiction. Maybe you'll be fed up with that shyt too. This whole zero fukks attitude to grotesque rape scenes to women is weird.

I don't need on screen rape scenes. It's low brow low class shock value shyt. The film is great all except that one bit.

This was nothing compared to Irreversible’s 9 minute rape scene.
