I don't see this working, you cross the Nassau/Queens boarder and it's Rangers country. And I don't see Long Islanders wanting to travel to downtown Brooklyn. They'll do it for work but otherwise I don't see them wanting to do it for anything else. Unless they're taking the LIRR to Penn Station for a night out most Long Islanders are scared of traveling west of the Van Wyck.

I think it's Reb that's always creating the distinction between "old Brooklyn" and "new Brooklyn". I don't think that old Brooklyn would have cared but new Brooklyn will. :manny: but again like all things we'll know for sure with time.

Also, I'm not familiar with the hockey climate but how is the city being a Rangers city different than it being a Knicks city before the Nets relocated? Is it just a matter of not enough people caring about hockey for it to even put a dent in the Rangers fan base?

While the fanbase for Hockey is smaller it's a rabid fanbase. Going to a Hockey game is some of the most fun you can have a sporting event just because of the fans.

I was hoping that the Islanders would stay on Long Island it's unfortunate Nassau kept turning down Wangs proposals. But as long as they stay in New York I'm ultimately cool with it to keep the rivalry going.

because those fagget jets are suppose to be in jersey :smh:
Oh man really? I thought the Jets had the west side deal and the Rangers crushed it.
And because Bloomturd was hell bent on getting the Olympics in 2012 so instead of settling on building in Queens he wouldn't budge on building the Stadium in the City.

Another bloomy failure. Flushing meadows park is nice though, you should keep a park.

Nah I think the proposal was to build where the iron triangle is.

A ton of Long Islanders take the trip to MSG for Rangers games I don't see why they wouldn't for the Barclays center. It actually might be more convenient then having to drive when you probably want to drink.
