Basketball is one thing but I doubt Brooklyn will give two fukks about a hockey team being in the borough.

The city is Rangers country.

I think it's Reb that's always creating the distinction between "old Brooklyn" and "new Brooklyn". I don't think that old Brooklyn would have cared but new Brooklyn will. but again like all things we'll know for sure with time.

Also, I'm not familiar with the hockey climate but how is the city being a Rangers city different than it being a Knicks city before the Nets relocated? Is it just a matter of not enough people caring about hockey for it to even put a dent in the Rangers fan base?
