Just saw it. I have to say the suspense in the first half is really well done. Felt like a horror movie. It makes a few odd choices in the last act but overall I'd say it's very solid. Elizabeth Moss was great and the ending worked for me. 7.5/10
Yeah, it kinda goes off the rails in the third act with some ludicrous movie logic and a scene that seems entirely written and designed for Whannell to show he can do a lengthy action tracking shot.

The first two acts of the film are very suspenseful though and I have to mention the opening scene in particular for being absolutely incredible.

Damn, I thought that this film was pretty average, and the gassing up that it's getting is from it being the best movie to release during a time where shyt movies are released :yeshrug:

It'll be better as a movie that you watch with your girl on Netflix than in theaters

Knew I was in for a treat after those opening credits, but this was a damn good movie. Elizabeth's performance throughout was phenomenal and was the biggest highlight for me, she really did a nice job capturing the descent into distress and paranoia of the character. The action cuts were dope and reminiscent of the ones from Upgrade(same director, I know). Loved the way the cameras were utilized at parts of the film to enhance the tension, shyt was clever.

Please do not let the #MeToo element push you away from this film. Some films add woke shyt to the plot and it ends up coming across as superficial, but it's really integral to the plot here and blends everything together well.

The sequence in the restaurant with Cecilia's sis had the whole theater shook :picard::wow: That shyt was so abrupt....

Exactly how I felt about this. Don't know how it's in the US but over here it's not being pushed as a "metoo" movie, even though it would fit the bill. But like you said everything here is integral to the story and nothing is extra. Works perfectly as a movie with a message, but also as just a great thriller.

That scene was crazy lolllllll

Yep, that scene i had my mouth open when it happened. And it wasnt like a 5 seconds. The consequences went on for a couple of minutes and that person had to watch it.

Best Blumhouse ive seen since the last Purge movie. Did not feel 2 hours at all
If this wasnt a "supernatural" movie and just a plain thriller I would enjoy. I know some of yall cant feel for white people aka c@c's but i felt for her. Like dang, she had to go through all of this. All around very good cast . The music is the superstar. I know people going crazy over this Candyman music. But the music in here made you feel like you're in a thriller. From beginning to end. Even though i suspected how it would end, i didnt predict it totally. RT critics get it right on this one. Very enjoyable.

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
Started off great. Excellent suspense and had everyone on the edge of their seats. After the second act though it got real dumb, real fast. I know why they did what they did, but it just did make sense. Still worth watching though. I'd give it a 7/10 for a fantastic I & II act.

I enjoyed it but some parts had me :patrice:

I get that he was fukking with her by leaving the evidence in the policeman's attic but that phone is pretty damning evidence to show anyone and she just left it there...:patrice:

There's a 2nd suit she finds and it's just left in the house for her to use at the very end...:patrice:
