I liked it. The movie benefited greatly from what was a stellar acting performance by Elizabeth Moss and Leigh Whannell did some really nice directing to the point that I was scanning every corner of the screen looking for tells that The Invisible Man was there even when he wasn't.
That combo made what was basically a sci-fi Lifetime Television "Woman in Peril" movie into something that was very entertaining.

Knew I was in for a treat after those opening credits, but this was a damn good movie. Elizabeth's performance throughout was phenomenal and was the biggest highlight for me, she really did a nice job capturing the descent into distress and paranoia of the character. The action cuts were dope and reminiscent of the ones from Upgrade(same director, I know). Loved the way the cameras were utilized at parts of the film to enhance the tension, shyt was clever.

Please do not let the #MeToo element push you away from this film. Some films add woke shyt to the plot and it ends up coming across as superficial, but it's really integral to the plot here and blends everything together well.

The sequence in the restaurant with Cecilia's sis had the whole theater shook :picard::wow: That shyt was so abrupt....

sir I screamed :damn:

I enjoyed it but some parts had me :patrice:

I get that he was fukking with her by leaving the evidence in the policeman's attic but that phone is pretty damning evidence to show anyone and she just left it there...:patrice:

There's a 2nd suit she finds and it's just left in the house for her to use at the very end...:patrice:

Yeah I wondered about that too. Also the fact that at the restaurant he must've walked in with the knife, but only his body is covered with the suit so logically, the knife in his hand...should've been visible? But I tend to kind of suspend this kind of judgment when I'm enjoying the movie and just ride with what's going on:yeshrug:

she killed her role. The suspense and paranoia was legit. U could see the terror on her face and the scenes when she was just scanning the room had a nikka panicing. Only thing i didnt like was them cacs were superhuman in the suit. Swinging people across the room and shyt.

This was very dope. All props to Elizabeth for her performance, which was a lot of looking scared at an empty space and having that translate to me as a cat in the audience. This shyt is filled with tension and I love Leigh for that. Even a couple scenes where some shyt happened completely threw me off rhythm wise because I figured it was the “cool down” period of a horror movie. Specifically a scene with moss and storm Reid and then moss and the woman playing her sister while in a restaurant.

Messaging aside and the movies themes aside, it’s just a dope scary flick. The final solution is definitely clunky and feels very sloppy in how the movie gets there, but that doesn’t mean it’s not emotionally satisfying either. Whannel crafted the atmosphere perfectly tho. Looking around every room just to see some shyt even if nothing is there, which I imagine is like being in the head of someone very paranoid with good reason. He firmly put me in Cecile’s shoes while doing enough work with the rest of the characters to make me give a shyt about them as well. But Moss is the mvp by two country miles.

Glad Leigh signed this deal with blumhouse. Let this man do whatever he wants to do next and I’ll be down. This also makes me excited to see his treatment for escape from New York.

This is the way to reinvent the universal monsters, which is exactly how they were before: manifestations of real world fears. The possibilities are kinda endless if you strip them all down to their basics and think of how those basics translate to our current world.

This was solid. Moss carried this shyt very well.

But I called who was in the suit.

As long as u suspend belief a lil bit, its very enjoyable.

Question, cause I was thinking about this: isn’t there a level of disbelief you have to suspend for a lot of horror flicks? Just on premise alone?

Not really talking about beliefs in the realm ghosts, zombies, or vampires, etc

I mean things they did to move the movie along that a person more than likely would have not happened in real life.

Word. I think that goes into do you buy the reality of the movie and less do you buy into “reality” because a movie will always be heightened. Even Nolan, who swears his movies are about reality, is clearly working in a heightened reality. So for me it’s not “does this make sense for a real person” and more does this make sense for this character
