I already knew all that. I've explained this in other threads, you can search the site for it.

This kills your whole argument. That's the funny part. You're acting like this only applies to Mobb Deep. Factually we know 'kast debut and "DC" outsold "The Infamous" by at least 500,000. It's on RIAA.

So if "DC" and 'kast is certified platinum....and Mobb Deep is certified gold....Mobb Deep would have to sell 500,000+ just to be equal, if both of those completely stopped selling. Which obviously didn't happen, using your own logic.

So....what are you talking about? Anything you can say about "oh, they stopped counting Mobb Deep sales!" can be applied to Outkast and Cube as well. The difference is we know for a fact Mobb Deep was far behind both of them.

Fred.

But that was no-one's point lol. NO-ONE was saying DC SOLD less than Infamous lol. People were saying no-one bought it or listened to Infamous, when that wasn't true.

If you knew all of this already, why didn't you say so in one of your posts?

When did I ever say anything about Outkast? What does Outkast have to do with any of this?

I believe that Infamous has moved a million units by now. I have no way of proving it. The fact that the album isn't platinum doesn't mean much based on the RIAA rules. The only reason this was even an issue is because you kept repeating that Mobb Deep struggled to go gold.

I have no idea where DC's sales stand now. I would agree that it's sold more than Infamous.

Like @The Ruler 09 I would like to see the sales the past ten years - I wouldn't be surprised if Infamous has sold more in the past ten years. Then again, I thought Infamou would win this poll. So there you go.

BMG is also defunct, also again if you think an album that went Gold in 2 months still hasn't gone Platinum 20 years later your crazy there's no point in arguing if you believe that. I just showed you Rae's SoundScan numbers from years ago that had Cuban Linx at over 1.1 million sales, yet the RIAA has it as only a a Gold certified album.

Look at mobbinfms posts where he's talking about how RIAA certification works. It's really not that difficult to understand :snoop:

You have to subscribe to SoundScan and request and pay money for the report it's a process.
So it's a slow process?? Well I ain't got nothing but time

The demographics between the forum and the world are vastly different. Vastly, I thought Infamous may win the poll too, but I'm certain Infamous is bigger worldwide. I don't know if people are being deliberately ignorant or just unconsciously ignorant, because the album is viewed as a worldwide classic. In Holland motherfukkers LOVE that shyt, it inspired so many producers and shyt, in U.K it inspired many famous producers, a few of them actually produced for Mobb now too after first being fans and inspired by the sound, Beat Butcha and Chemo spring to mind in that regard. The only real evidence for how big the albums is the worldwide is youtube, yes that's not the only way, but it's one of the few ways we can actually check, like I said MILLIONS more tells it's own story, who doesn't use youtube? There's people in Africa and Pakistan and India and Japan and all kinds of places that love that album. The sound was iconic, the songs were huge, add 8 Mile ON to that (it was big before that, but it just made it even bigger) and people went back and checked that album, for whoever hadn't heard it, that film was big , for better or for worse, had some bad influences and some good one's It was a popular film and album. The reason people love the album is the sound. In large part, the beats were CRAZY. Some of the songs were all time classics. To emphasise quickly what I mean, I dislike Eminem, the most out of any rapper, but some of the people he loses to on here in polls he just wouldn't in real life. Especially on a worldwide basis. Yeah we don't know really what's sold more, but Infamous is much more widely listened to nowadays worldwide. Also the insane degree of blind haters and stans on here is at ridiculous levels. People have actually said other artists are DEFINETLY better than others without hearing the other artists work lol. And people talking about Mobb Sleep and someones sickle cell, you take those crazy people off and Mobb would be winning the polls. I don't like DC THAT much, but it IS viewed as a dope album, a very dope album and by a lot of people classic, but Infamous is much more known worldwide. People can rap those lyrics worldwide as fans, can they do that with songs on the Cube album? No, maybe No Vaseline?. Even though I haven't ever seen that, yet have seen numerous people all over the world, numerous states in U.S, and Europe, Africa, Asia and probably other continents too that can recite that shyt. People are changing shyt so much, it's all just deflecting, they say they know it but they were calling you a liar initially, how does that work?

Who cares about Sales? When has that ever been the barometer for defining classic music?

Having said that, this isnt a comparison really. One album is the greatest of all time while the other is barely listenable these days.

My City
To me - DC is the best west coast album of all time. Better than the Chronic and Doggystyle.
I can agree with you on that one but I would put Original Gangsters and Tha Triflin Album up there also. My senior year of high school it went throughout the whole school which was a better album, The Chronic or Tha Triflin Album. It went straight down the middle. Original Gangsters is a great album also, gonna be hard to find an album that can match it track for track. DC I remember picking this tape up my 10th grade yr and listening to Color Blind on rotation. Infamous my mans picked it up and all we did was compare it to Linx. Both are great albums but 2 totally different albums.

That's a great point about 8 Mile. I wasn't even thinking about that - but that would have been another reason people would have gone and copped the album. I just can't imagine it hasn't moved a million by now.

Dude dont even waster ur breath with these fools, Infamous is easily far superior in all regards. Lyrics, beats, songs, originality, playback value, etc.

Nikkaz act like Pee aint spit some of the realest shyt ever on Up North Trip but I guess it wasnt simple enough like cubes lyrics for these idiots to comprehend. Pee spit DC's main theme in 16 bars and did it better. Ive already said it but Ill say it again, The Start Of Your Ending is better than anything on DC. These idiots who are against anything NY related are the only reason the polls are so tilted

So two different polls and the answer is still the same, Ice Cube 2 Mobb Deep/Prodigy 0
I didn't expect P to win against Cube, but I really thought Infamous would beat DC.
I wonder who the Coli got if its DC vs. Illmatic???

Edit: and we need to get a poll that only P could win against Cube. Shorter rapper? Rapper with the more life threatening disease?
