A top 5 or top 10 is really too limiting, since there have been a whole lot of good albums. I actually have a top 100 favorite hip-hop albums list which I've been revising, and wouldn't go any less than 60 or 70.

I used to have a T50 hip hop albums list that I regularly worked on but my tastes changed very quick so it got outdated fast. It'd be cool if I remade it.

That would be a difficult undertaking, to do a top whatever list across all genres of music. For me, Marvin Gaye's What's Going On is my favorite album of all time across all genres, but I'm not sure how I would go about putting hip-hop albums with R&B/soul albums with jazz albums with rock albums, etc. First I'd have to be sure I was fairly certain of the order of the single genre lists, then go about inserting them all into a big cross-genre list.

Personally DC is one of my favorite albums. even more than the INFAMOUS. that's not to slight Mobb at all.

still dont know how they put together such a perfect album. It still has to come down to personal preference, where you were in your life when you first heard it, if you are East Coast or West, type of production you like.
