Of course the ATL
He literally asked for hotels downtown. You nikkas starting to do the most. I answered the exact questions buddy asked.

I’m not criticizing/attacking you breh. All I’m saying is that if you want to explore different parts of Atlanta stay at hotels that aren’t your typical Hyatt/Marriott there are options that are just as nice if not better than can offer you comparable or nicer experiences. There’s nothing wrong with the spots you mentioned but there are other ones that deserve attention as well

No I don’t feel attacked at all. I’m saying that buddy came in literally asking for a downtown hotel guide and I gave him exactly that. Then gave all the pros and cons even mentioned midtown and buckhead to him.

But then it turned into some, “why would you ever stay or get a hotel downtown type shyt”

And I had to come in on some hold up, first off he literally asked about downtown. And second, it’s plenty of tourist who come and stay downtown and are fine. Like, it’s only a few residential buildings and downtown is small as hell, it’s literally filled up with tourist everyday.

So I understand he may have better/different options but all that will be dependent on the variables of his stay. And the only info he asked was, for a downtown guide.

And also, since I’ve been in Atlanta, I’ve noticed a lot of people from Atlanta feel some type of disgust about downtown. It’s easy to notice if you not from here. And I’m seeing some of that in this thread and saying hold up, it’s still downtown of a major city and in the middle of everything

It’s not even anything against downtown Atlanta, the ‘downtown’ area is almost never the actual spot you wanna be around to get the best feel for the city if you’re visiting.

I’ve had this experience when I’ve been in Houston, Miami and SF. For most cities it’s convention centers, maybe a stadium or two and then some tourist spots (ie World of Coke). Even the restaurants are more corporate entities than they are local flavor.

The one exception I can think of is Denver. I really like staying in that 16th St Mall area, and even then my two friends who live out there clown me for staying there

Thanks for all the suggestions. I booked at the Indigo in midtown. It looks ok from all the reviews I read

Hotel indigo is basically downtown lol. It’s literally 1 block up from the end of downtown. But technically it is midtown. It’s right in the very beginning. Only thing really directly right there is the Fox theater. You go to the right and you got downtown and you go to the left you get into the heart of midtown once you go down some. Just hop on the scooter and explore.

And regarding the whole downtown/midtown debate that been going on here….

You are literally staying like .5 miles from downtown. You can walk to the Marriott and Marquis and the hotels I mentioned and that everyone suggested you don’t stay at. Well, you a whole .5 miles down the road

Whether you want to admit it or not that shyt is a BIG difference. There's exponentially more cooler shyt to do the farther you go North of North Avenue on Peachtree. shyts start getting dry af once you pass JR Crickets

:manny:

Never met anyone that reps downtown Atlanta so hard though breh, I'm impressed.

No, it’s not breh. It’s literally exactly what I said it is. The only thing directly there is the damn fox theater.

And, yes, once you go further north, that’s the actual cool part of midtown with everything. That’s exactly what I said. And that’s what my point was, you nikkas said all that shyt about those hotels that he asked about downtown, and he ended up choosing a hotel that is basically downtown. Might as well went to the heart of midtown.

I don’t consider Hotel Indigo downtown. That’s midtown to me. The owners of Hotel Indigo would prob be mad if someone suggested it was downtown.

Yeah it is Midtown. It’s exactly on the edge of midtown. It’s literally like 2 blocks away from downtown. There is nothing really right there on that block except the fox across the street. I know this area like the back of my hand and that’s what I’m trying to tell y’all. Hotel indigo is in the weakest part of midtown. I’m literally over there all the time. My partner got a spot at the Lilli.

My whole point is y’all said all this shyt about downtown, and the nikka is a block away from downtown

Thinking about coming to Atlanta next month for vacation. I'm booking a hotel downtown. Any recommendations when I touch down.

I only mentioned the hotel part because I want to plan everything around the downtown area or closer to that area
Fairfield Marriott is right by the main subway station and on top of Underground (if you know you know cause I ain't explaining).

A Fairfield Marriott anywhere is a Fairfield everywhere. They might charge you 200 a night cause they crazy. A lot of strippers stay there so no telling what you will see down them hallways. And the area not safe at night and there are bums during the day, outside the hotel.

Cats in here shytting on Marriott Marquis and Hyatt like they basic, they ain't basic. They will charge 200+ a night.

If the hotel area means more than the hotel itself, then buckhead and midtown are better.

To be honest I didn't choose Indigo because of the location. I chose it because it fits into my budget range

If we’re gonna argue about somethin it should be somethin worthwhile like where the best tacos are at these days. Not dumb shyt like downtown Atlanta

There are two Hotel Indigos. You’re probably thinkin of the one by Georgian Terrace (def midtown) and he’s prob thinking of the one next to Sundial, so def downtown
