To be honest I didn't choose Indigo because of the location. I chose it because it fits into my budget range

If you’re stayin at the one by Georgian Terrace,, a few things I’d recommend :

- JR Crickets : seen as a staple for Atlanta wings, ima keep it a buck most locals have found better wing spots than JRs so they aren’t anywhere near the best in the city (and they’re small as hell) but they’re still damn good wings. I usually get the dirty birds or lemony pepper wet

- Scoop an Uber 5-10 min east and check out Ponce City market. Be warned it’s a lotta rich white lady style shops in there, but there’s other stuff there too and it’s usually got a gang of women there. Also you can go straight to the beltline from there and walk around, they got bars and restaurants as you walk down the beltline. If PAWGin is your thing stop by Ladybird :hubie:

- In the same area is Little Five Points. It’s worth a stop by and explore a little bit. Vortex has some goodass burgers

- I’d recommend goin a couple miles west over to west midtown too. From 14th / Howell Mill down to 8th street is a good vibe, lotta restaurants and bars and stuff. Rock Steady is a good vibe upstairs, and Blu if you want hookah.

There’s more to recommend but everything above is all 2-3 miles within where you’re staying.

It’s not even anything against downtown Atlanta, the ‘downtown’ area is almost never the actual spot you wanna be around to get the best feel for the city if you’re visiting.

I’ve had this experience when I’ve been in Houston, Miami and SF. For most cities it’s convention centers, maybe a stadium or two and then some tourist spots (ie World of Coke). Even the restaurants are more corporate entities than they are local flavor.

The one exception I can think of is Denver. I really like staying in that 16th St Mall area, and even then my two friends who live out there clown me for staying there
Downtown Denver was def lit

If we’re gonna argue about somethin it should be somethin worthwhile like where the best tacos are at these days. Not dumb shyt like downtown Atlanta

There are two Hotel Indigos. You’re probably thinkin of the one by Georgian Terrace (def midtown) and he’s prob thinking of the one next to Sundial, so def downtown

No, I’m not confused at all. I know exactly what hotel he is talking about. The one in midtown is exactly where I said it was and it’s right across the to street from the fox and it’s literally nothing there as far as attractions. That’s where he is staying. Need to go further up to get to the heart of midtown. Just a block or two the other way is downtown.

The other hotel indigo in right next to the passport office and that post office. Directly across the street from the cvs and half a block up from the Hyatt regency and marquis.

The irony is, those hotels are like .5 miles apart. And again, the one he staying at is at the very edge of downtown/midtown, so for all that talk about don’t stay downtown, my whole point is, he is a block away from downtown.

Officially moved to Lithonia two weeks ago. Haven't lived outside of the city since I've been here.

So far suburban life is :ahh:.

No noise, no homeless, black excellence everywhere.

To be honest breh, I don’t care where you picked breh, I’m just in here spitting pure facts in regards to the questions being asked.

And regarding a guide…man hop your ass on a bird scooter and go explore.

Dekalb county aint been black excellence since the late 90s lol
South dekalb is huge and most of it is below Ponce, half my commute is getting thru there. That's still mostly black, though not as black as it used to be. If you are around Downtown Decatur and east Atlanta, yeah, that's white. But Gresham on down i-20 still pretty black.

As far as city of Lithonia and Marbut road, still pretty destitute. But behind stonecrest and along 124, pretty well off

Lithonia had a small pocket of real money, the rest was folks with bad mortgages fake flexing lol the issue is the proximity of the bullshyt to the normal folks and having to share the same stores often which can = tom foolery

They clearly want to cater to a different clientele. Haven't thought about the place since I got pulled from working that site for reasons 🙃 I won't get into here

Yeah breh gave you some good plays, midtown has good dining options depending on what food type you want. (check opentable)

That howell mill area also has snooze and west egg cafe (breakfast) and drawbar (rooftop bar in a hotel with solid views)

I don’t think that’s the case at all. I’m a Foundation Member at TGS and know Ryan well…my take just based on what I know and who I know is that because TGS is now owned by Greenwood which is a VC backed financial tech/neo bank, TGS is being scrutinized for its financial & operating structure to make it more efficient & generate more revenue. A lot of times with venture backed startups those founders aren’t always equipped to scale a million dollar business. Sensing that, Greenwood may have come to TK, said aye breh we’re going to reassign you in the organization to a lesser role, TK may have said fukk that and he got fired. I don’t know the exact details yet but that’s what I think may have happened
