You a weirdo kid
Hope your holiday is safe b
And nawl I believe money is the solution. And who everybody think have the money in Atlanta?
If I'm looking for people in Atlanta who have money I damn sure ain't looking for any rappers Cmon man, let's be serious for a second
Gentrification is a much more complex and nuanced socio economic development than you're giving it credit for. No group of entertainers are going to be able stop it
But u ain’t gotta be street smart to make it in Atlanta if we being honest.
Mane I was in that whole foods having a whole a bipolar schizophrenic episode. Police was tryna arrest me but the security at whole foods saved me. I was rollin a blunt and finna light it up in there on some dumb shyt. The whole foods really helped the community and gave folks job. Even white folks be in Englewood shopping there and realizing it really ain’t as dangerous as y’all think but this the only whole foods I seen wit armed security. My bro was in Chicago for a medical school interview and was scared to come pick me up at Whole Foods our there. Idk if ima be in Chicago for Christmas. I gotta job at ups so I might gotta be here but I might go back to Atlanta to see family. But ion even wanna go back to Atlanta, outside of anything but family. But I do wanna burger from Ann’s snack bar in kirkwood or some breakfast from k&k in Bankhead I’m bad wit road names. Idk
But nawl mane Englewood ain’t getting gentrified. When they get a Trader Joe’s out here than maybe lol
breh it’s a Whole Foods!!! Like cmon fam. And I’ve been in there, seen just as many white people as I did Black folks. They not selling $3 waters with a slice of asparagus in it to brehs who on the corner all day. That’s not some olive branch the good hearted crackers at Whole Foods corporate threw to the hood so they can eat right. Nah breh. They about to put an elevated bike path in Englewood, like the 606 trail up near Wicker Park and like the Highline in NY. A bike path breh, cmon fam that isn’t for the hood. And Englewood isn’t the only rough area in Chicago, I know first hand Chicago is changing cuz I’m dealing with managing some spots a close relative just left me after they passed. One of them spots is in Pilsen, I’m familiar enough with Chi to know Pilsen had Latino gangs dropping bodies as recently as 10 years ago. Renting it out, not even listed for sale and 3 folks already have seen the ad and offered to buy for well over what I would ask for if I was selling it. Them crackers is coming Breh. I’ve been seen the writing on the wall. Chicago is by far the cheapest city you can have that type of big city lifestyle in. That’s not going to always be the case.
Ain’t that complex. White folks run shyt and I assume most of y’all on here black.
All white people care about is money so if u got the money gentrification ain’t finna happen. But if they racist enough they’ll make it happen.
The love of money is the root of all evil. How u think Donald trump president.
I can tell u smart breh but u seem book smart not street smart. But u ain’t gotta be street smart to make it in Atlanta if we being honest.
Fam I met you some years back and you cool with me, we share some similarities (some) trust me I feel you on the bi polar shyt, I feel you on the Chicago connections tip, and you a youngin’ so Ima always be like that older voice of reason, but you stepping on that line patna. And don’t act like you know every inch of this city, cuz you not from my side, don’t make me ask you on here what HS you went to. You went to UGA breh, that shyt is like going to Harvard round where I grew up at. nikkas was lucky to graduate HS. If you got into Metro or Ft Valley St you damn near valedictorian status. The simple fact you was able to get in there speaks volumes about you, and it’s nothing wrong with that, that’s actyally some dope shyt. Keep doing you. straight up. But at the same time don’t act like you know both sides of the fence either, cuz you don’t. I know Chicago cuz ive got family there, but I’ve also gotten money there, did the same thing in Florida, Carolinas and Maryland. I didn’t learn that shyt by osmosis. I picked that game up running around Means St/Luckie St, Hollywood Rd, Adamsville and MLK/Ashby going back 20 years at this point.
