Think I posted this before. I still don’t understand how Atlanta getting gentrified when all these rappers got money. Ion know much about politics.

Englewood Chicago ain’t getting gentrified crackas trying but they ain’t going for that. Folks here put money back into the community, and if somebody gotta get killed for them to realize they ain’t gentrifying shyt then somebody getting killed.

My boy, they opened a Whole Foods on 63rd & Halsted in Englewood, it doesn’t get more gentrification-esque than that. They didn’t open that bytch so the hood can have access to top notch food, it’s for them Cacs thats already starting to pull up. Hoods in Atlanta still in food deserts basically. Folks on Bankhead and Simpson still gotta drive way out to South Cobb or even West Midtown to get decent groceries. Atlanta is changing, but Chicago isn’t immune to that either my boy. I ain’t forgot about you either lil breh, ima be back up there day after X-mas, we gone chop it up. Be safe broski

Alot of the hoods in ATL have low populations and aging populations at that. The closer to midtown you are the less populated the hoods seem to be. Chicago is waaaaaaay more dense than Atl So its harder to spot when things are changing or being prepared. Harlem is the same way (at least on the surface as an outsider). When i was there it still seemed black as hell but residents can see the differences (and of course the sky rocketing rent prices).

Do you really believe rappers are the solution to urban gentrification and large scale socio economic redevelopment?

Mane I was in that whole foods having a whole a bipolar schizophrenic episode. Police was tryna arrest me but the security at whole foods saved me. I was rollin a blunt and finna light it up in there on some dumb shyt. The whole foods really helped the community and gave folks job. Even white folks be in Englewood shopping there and realizing it really ain’t as dangerous as y’all think but this the only whole foods I seen wit armed security. My bro was in Chicago for a medical school interview and was scared to come pick me up at Whole Foods our there. Idk if ima be in Chicago for Christmas. I gotta job at ups so I might gotta be here but I might go back to Atlanta to see family. But ion even wanna go back to Atlanta, outside of anything but family. But I do wanna burger from Ann’s snack bar in kirkwood or some breakfast from k&k in Bankhead I’m bad wit road names. Idk

But nawl mane Englewood ain’t getting gentrified. When they get a Trader Joe’s out here than maybe lol

You missed he whole point. Everybody in Chicago think everybody in Atlanta got money cuz look who run the rap game. I try and tell em nawl mane they Cappin. I’m just saying if they really had all that money how Atlanta gettin gentrified. Derrick rose from Englewood and he put money back into the community, Dwayne wade too, all these rappers and doctors polications from Chicago do.

The south slow tho...too slow for me so I understand if y’all don’t get what I’m saying

I can only speak on Englewood and Downtown cuz that’s where I be. Got fam on the west side of Chicago but ion be out there. Englewood got old folks and an aging population too. They ain’t tryna leave and pay more for rent. It’s easy to spot when shyt changing in Chicago.

But as I said I’m not good with politics and allat but it’s skmple. If u don’t want ur neighborhood to be gentrified u gone stop it anyway u can

I can’t speak on Harlem or Ny cuz I only drove through there. And I’m good on ever stopping there I’ll stick to Atlanta or Chicago. There’s a reason all those NY nikkas move to Atlanta. And there’s a reason they come to Chicago and get ran out thinkin that rude shyt gonna fly
