yes, the AUTOPILOT BEEN TALKED TO DEATH. i even mentioned before that it could of been used as a MISDIRECTION.

batman ALSO said right BEFORE he went to send the detonator off to sea that the autopilot was still inoperable...

both are contradictory and one of them served the purpose of misdirection...

The misdirection was to have ppl believe batman died for Gotham. Except the select few who knew (fox, alfred). Bruce is chilling sippin on mojitos on an exotic island

We already saw the cold, calculating, remorseless Batman in The Dark Knight. He went against a lot of what he truly believed in going against The Joker.

If we saw that again with Bane, I'd be disappointed. I enjoyed seeing Bane break Batman physically, emotionally and financially instead.

Amen.

That was a great way to wrap things up for the trilogy...we got to see how creation as he transformed from a misguided soul to a well trained vigilante, then he was fully swagged going against his most diabolical foe, then he's torn down only to rise from the ashes to save Gotham one last time.

All in all, I liked Batman looking weak in the first and second act of the movie. One of the reasons why I have always liked Batman more than any other superhero is the fact that he is a real person. No magic, no powers, just skill, resources, and training. The fact that all of these started to betray him in TDKR was great story telling. shyt even Bane's goons used the tumblers against Batman and Gotham at the end.

Don't forget his will...his perseverance was absolutely key this go-round

LOL
I was gonna ask the same thing.
I think Marvel studios has finally gotten it for the most part. You don't need to dress up a comic book movie. Just understand what the character is all about, what he/she can do, and reproduce that onscreen. Give the people what they want. It's a very simple formula. It only gets muddled and complicated when you try to dress it up to make it as big a blockbuster as possible.
When we go to see a Hulk movie, we want to see HULK SMASH. Not Hulk being senstive, or Hulk dealing with "issues" (aka Ang Lee's version).
Same thing can be said for ALL comic book movies.
My only problem with DKR is that the core of the Batman character seemed like it was left out of the movie for the most part. The distant coldness to be specific. But that's mainly because I'm a comic book stan and not a Nolan stan.
Watch any of the Batman DC comics animated movies and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Read the first 5 issues of the new 52 Batman and see Batman get broken down in even worse fashion by the Court of Owls. Not all comics are full of action and a lot of writers do try to inject some realism into there work.

This movie had more action than the first eleven issues of Batman, I think.

Really a batman movie (maybe even trilogy) based on the Court of Owls arc would be dope as hell.
