Duuuuuvaaaaal!!
Why would they? Batman has no super powers. That is makes him "realer" than any other super hero.

By "realistic", I mean making the characters more human. I hate it when directors do that. That's why the last Supes movie was a failure. I don't want to see a Superman with feelings and thoughts like me. I want to see an alien who has no equal, no true place amoung humans, yet will fight for what he beleives in, and won't hesitate using the full extent of his god like powers.
We have yet to see a Supes movie like this.
Just like I would much rather have seen a cold, calculating, remorseless Batman versus the mentally and physically damaged Batman we got this time, trying to hold his own against another villian.

Lol. I think some of yall are getting a movie being realistic and a movie having a story line mixed up. Most super hero movies dont develop the story. So when u have one like the batman. U expect real stuff n forget ur watchIng a super hero movie.

Then u would have Ppl complaining the movie is nothing but action.

Take blade 1 vs. blade 3.
Matrix vs matrix 3

We already saw the cold, calculating, remorseless Batman in The Dark Knight. He went against a lot of what he truly believed in going against The Joker.

If we saw that again with Bane, I'd be disappointed. I enjoyed seeing Bane break Batman physically, emotionally and financially instead.

It was great. Sure it felt a bit long-winded and overdramatic at times, but Nolan delivered. I cant see any other way to close out the Trilogy better than he did.

Film aint perfect, and the fight scenes were a bit tame, but it was ambitious taking on as many events and characters as they did and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I dont want to trivialize anyone's opinion, but this typically happens at the end of EVERY trilogy. People get disappointed/upset/letdown etc. Loving the first two, and disliking this one just seems strange

If Batman isn't cold, calculating and remoreless, then it really isn't Batman. It is a pale imitation... At least as far as it compares to the source material (the comic book).
I enjoyed seeing Bane do that as well by the way.

Im shocked at the reaction this movie is getting. I was let down. Movie had no direction, dialogue was very meh, and there were no stand out performances. Movie was straight up flabby. I didnt absolutely hate it or anything but it was VERY average. Nowhere near the same class as BB & TDK.

I'm with you breh. I'll even go further and say it was downright bad. Loved the first 2 movies, did not at all like this one. 4.5 out of 10.

I was gonna ask the same thing.
I think Marvel studios has finally gotten it for the most part. You don't need to dress up a comic book movie. Just understand what the character is all about, what he/she can do, and reproduce that onscreen. Give the people what they want. It's a very simple formula. It only gets muddled and complicated when you try to dress it up to make it as big a blockbuster as possible.
When we go to see a Hulk movie, we want to see HULK SMASH. Not Hulk being senstive, or Hulk dealing with "issues" (aka Ang Lee's version).
Same thing can be said for ALL comic book movies.
My only problem with DKR is that the core of the Batman character seemed like it was left out of the movie for the most part. The distant coldness to be specific. But that's mainly because I'm a comic book stan and not a Nolan stan.
Watch any of the Batman DC comics animated movies and you'll see what I'm talking about.

i sensed that no matter whut nolan gave you, even the movie came with some bomb ass p*ssy, you would of still be complaining :snoop:

but lemme explain something, the "trick-strategy" on BANE was pointless! you know why? because BATMAN TRIED THAT SH1T the 1st go around and BANE was unfazed like :rudy:
Theatricality and deception are powerful agents to the uninitiated. But we are initiated, aren't we Bruce? :aicmon:

Saw this last night for the first time.

I gotta give it up for Nolan on this one. While I dont think it was as good as TDK, it told a better story. First, Bane was amazing. No one thought he would upstage the Joker, but he did a damn good job making the audience believe that he was more suited to fukk shyt up on a bigger scale. I like how the movie spanned a little while, and especially like how they waited 8 years between the events in TDK and TDKR. Reminded me of the Dark Knight Returns graphic novel, where Bruce is :flabbynsick: and is forced to go back to crime fighting.

Supporting cast killed it as always. Literally everyone had a :gladbron: performance, and I was pumped that JGL was revealed as Robin after the fact, leaving the door open for a reboot.

With regards to the ending, Bruce Wayne is clearly alive. The topic has been beaten to death on here so we dont need to go into the reasons why, again.

All in all, I liked Batman looking weak in the first and second act of the movie. One of the reasons why I have always liked Batman more than any other superhero is the fact that he is a real person. No magic, no powers, just skill, resources, and training. The fact that all of these started to betray him in TDKR was great story telling. shyt even Bane's goons used the tumblers against Batman and Gotham at the end.

The fight scenes were both amazing, had the whole audience looking like :krs: when he lifted Batman up in the air about to give him that back break. I'm gonna go see this again this week to really get the :noah: effect. shyt, I was in the second row of the imax, gonna need some more comfortable seating next go round.
