Saw this last night for the first time.
I gotta give it up for Nolan on this one. While I dont think it was as good as TDK, it told a better story. First, Bane was amazing. No one thought he would upstage the Joker, but he did a damn good job making the audience believe that he was more suited to fukk shyt up on a bigger scale. I like how the movie spanned a little while, and especially like how they waited 8 years between the events in TDK and TDKR. Reminded me of the Dark Knight Returns graphic novel, where Bruce is
and is forced to go back to crime fighting.
Supporting cast killed it as always. Literally everyone had a
performance, and I was pumped that JGL was revealed as Robin after the fact, leaving the door open for a reboot.
With regards to the ending, Bruce Wayne is clearly alive. The topic has been beaten to death on here so we dont need to go into the reasons why, again.
All in all, I liked Batman looking weak in the first and second act of the movie. One of the reasons why I have always liked Batman more than any other superhero is the fact that he is a real person. No magic, no powers, just skill, resources, and training. The fact that all of these started to betray him in TDKR was great story telling. shyt even Bane's goons used the tumblers against Batman and Gotham at the end.
The fight scenes were both amazing, had the whole audience looking like
when he lifted Batman up in the air about to give him that back break. I'm gonna go see this again this week to really get the
effect. shyt, I was in the second row of the imax, gonna need some more comfortable seating next go round.
