Good for you, too bad for all the great movies that never got nominated because of the intrinsic bullshyt politics of awards shows.

Sorry but this is comes off like a child demanding to be heard. I thought you we're on some kind of "art is not competition" stance, which I can understand, but from this its seems you are sour that a group of other people don't like the same movies you do and thus reject them and their opinions.

Good read..brings up a lot of good points about narrative in the oscars..there's always the movie that wins over the movie that should've won so of course they bring up Pulp Fiction and Forest Gump but also Kings Speech and Social Network.

X movie and Y movies: X movies are the harder edge choices, like pulp fiction, and Y movies are safer, like pulp fiction

Somebody seems upset ryan gosling has never won :lolbron:

At least he'll always have the award to your heart

Couldn't care less. In fact, only just now I thought about that and remembered that he got nominated for Half Nelson.

And it's always amazing to see the greatness of the young Gawdling wooing the ladies singing Jodeci songs. :mjcry:

True. But Crash gives me nausea just thinking about it

@TheGodling is an ok poster, but dude loves to shyt on every thread possible

I love shytting on stuff period, but the end of DST always signals the awakening of pure a$$hole me. It's my full moon, except it lasts all winter. :wow:

Nope. You're right about my art is not competition stance, and I feel particularly strong about it since the competition is so obviously crooked. The obligatory bought-in Weinstein movie, "the little indie darling that could" (always distributed by the daughter company of a major multi-million studio), the aged actor career recognition... It's all such crap and it all disgusts me.
