TYRONE GA!
Nah, but 8/10 times I'm :shaq2: at the stuff. I still enjoyed IW and EG.

There was only one in IW that was corny and it was when Starlord was talking to Gamorra and they cut to Drax eating snacks watching them in the background on some goofy shyt. :beli:

We saw what they did to Ultron. :pacspit:
Too much trying to I think adlib humor and from characters who shouldn't be trying to be jokesters. I didn't like that Thor turned into a goofball.
Church.

What they've done to Hulk since AOU is embarrassing.

It depends on the character, but all of the movies should have different tones based on the characters.

I loved it in Guardians, because that's revamped Quill & Rocket. But it should not have been Drax. But at the same time, how do you turn Drax into someone memorable? Of course it works for Spidey. I liked the arrogant playfulness in the first Thor, but the slapstick was too much for the character. If Dark World was more like whenever he was in Asgard, the movie is great. I despised going full comedy for Ragnarok.

I loved RDJ as Tony...but the entire move, the villains, Happy...ehhh. Same thing with Dr Strange.

Agreed

Some of y'all are really mad that movies based on comic book superheroes tell silly jokes? :dwillhuh:

Most comic book superheroes are intended for kids and the idea of comic book superheroes is silly in and of itself. What are y'all complaining about? :dwillhuh:

Also, it's not like there's a lack of "dark", "serious", "brooding" superhero movies. Didn't The Batman just come out? :gucci:

With the movies being pg13 I don’t think they care. James Gunn is the worst offender for me because you can tell he think them poop jokes and shyt are fire. Guardians 2 was mad corny because of those mid ass jokes. That whole taser face thing.
:rudy::camby:
Yeah, and he compounded the corniness by making all his characters fall over laughing everytime they made a joke too. Basically had a laugh track in a life action movie. His shyt is gonna be dated af in a few years.

Completed untrue. Daredevil since inception. Green Lantern books have a dark tone, hell, most of the characters created in the 70s...that slapstick ish has pretty much evaded most comicbook superheroes, but there is a lane for the ligththearted, jokey stuff - in the lane of Archies/Heathcliff/Dennis the Menace etc. No matter the era, even if you get a jovial hero (the swashbuckler type), the villain is always played straight or deadpan. Some of the Marvel movies could've had the tone of Pirates of the Caribbean Curse/Black Pearl. It was practically fantasy adventure pirates romp of the serials.

Punisher is not representative of most comic book superheroes :gucci:

He's not even a superhero. He's an anti-hero.

I said MOST comic book superheroes. Do y'all know what most means? :gucci:

The intended target for most comic book superheroes are young kids and teenagers. That doesn't mean that there aren't comic book superheroes who's main target is adults. But those ones aren't the majority. Why do y'all think every superhero cartoon has toy sales? Heck, even The Batman (2022) has toy merchandize? What are y'all saying? Kids are the main target of superhero stuff. That is NOT debatable :gucci:

"Most" is still wrong too. There are far more characters in the vein of daredevil and punisher than there are spiderman type heroes. MCU turned everybody into a wise cracking peter parker clone.
In comics Tony is an alcholoic
Antman beats his wife
Hulk eats people when he gets mad
Black Widow will fukk somebody to remain undercover
Hawkeye is basically john wick with arrows.
Cap is basically everything you'd expect from a white guy from the 40's :mjpls:

Mind you i read mostly the Ultimates Comics. but even outside of that they are not childrens characters.

Yeah, some comic book superheroes have some "mature" or "darker" storylines. Still doesn't change the intended audience for many/most of them.

Also, some of those storylines are aimed at teens which allow them to tell "darker" stories. Teenagers are still kids though.

Still disagree with your use ot the term "most". Marvel comics in general seems to be mostly mature stories. and has some (a clear minority) aimed at children. Hence the reason they have to tone down the comics when they make cartoons that are actually aimed at kids. Most of the shows can't even show blood or bullets or nudity, but the comics do.

All that shyt you listed does not contradict that Tony Stark and James Rhodes told jokes and were not dead serious. Same goes for West Coast Avengers, The Incredible Hulk etc.

Citizen Kane kinda sucks low key. Avengers End Game 1 and 2 shyt all over Citizen Kane tbh
I haven’t seen it since I watched it in a film class I took in college. I remember having a hard time staying awake for it but I was also like 19 or 20 probably hung over in a morning class.
