Just saw this with my wife, and I was never a fan of the real one and never read the book but this version filled in a lot of gaps for me.

And damn Fantasia is absolutely amazing, almost had me tearing up.

What a beautiful movie and far faaar better than the original.

I'm serious. It's more faithful to the book. Steven Spielberg made a great film, but he made a terrible adaptation of the novel. This movie is more true to the heart of the book, IMO.

Seen it with the wife, would be good as a play as a movie the characters werent deep enough, have to watch the original again was to young to understand some things back then like the shyt with her father or fake father. So maybe the characters werent that deep in that either and it was 1985

I feel like they were pretty deep
There was little shyt on each of them and how they played off each other

Each one showed the dynamics of men and women relationships and what was expected
