Windu style draws strength while fighting the dark side though
So he probably has the edge fighting someone like palpatine even though yoda the stronger. Yoda seems to restrict his power more than windu who does whatever it takes. Plus palpatine was using all kinds of tricks vs yoda. Fair one I dont see it
Mace is simply a better fighter than Yoda or Palpatine

Lucas put out official documentation that Mace 2nd only to Yoda. Clone Wars animated series is icing on the cake

He was. Him and Yoda are the leaders of the order though, note that in each episode Mace and Yoda don't defer to each other to make decisions (in fact, Yoda disagreed with Obi-Wan becoming Anakins teacher but was overruled).
Dooku is the reason either Yoda or Mace are always on Coruscant though, because he tells Obi-Wan that Darth Sidious controls half the senate. This coincides with Mace and Yoda already feeling the darkside growing which they talked about earlier in the movie.
Palpatine's entire game in Episode III is trying to spread the council thin because the endgame is coming. Mace/Yoda's game is to draw out the sith and they were already starting to suspect Palpatine (Mace: "the darkside surrounds the chancellor" and when Anakin tells him the truth Mace's first reaction is "then our worst fears have been realized").

Started back up on Clone Wars and I just finished this episode. Windu made kid Boba's soul burn slow in that moment
