The casual way in which Mace Windu murked Jango Fett doesn't get the appreciation it deserves

Idk, man, Palpatine really washed Yoda. I think Mace wins 40% of the time, but Palpatine's slightly better.
Windu style draws strength while fighting the dark side though :hubie:
So he probably has the edge fighting someone like palpatine even though yoda the stronger. Yoda seems to restrict his power more than windu who does whatever it takes. Plus palpatine was using all kinds of tricks vs yoda. Fair one I dont see it:patrice:

@Dorian Breh 's cool and I'm pretty sure we've discussed this before so I'm not gonna pull out ALL the arguments...but here's a few :youngsabo:

Mace, Yoda and Palpatine are a class apart. Nobody can compete with them except for a fully realized Anakin who would've eclipsed them.

That comes from George Lucas, not me. So Mace and Palpatine (and Yoda) squaring off can go either way. In the canon it initially goes Mace's way but rather than overpowering him, which Palpatine absolutely tries ("You will die!" - in front of Anakin) he OUTSMARTS him and basically throws all of his eggs in Anakins basket.

For me, taking my fanboyism and nerdism out of it, that whole scene also just works better if Palpatine legit got beaten:

- it explains why he's so :demonic: on wiping out ALL of the Jedi. They're a legit threat to him.
- It also explains why he's initially :lupe: on the idea of Luke becoming a Jedi.
- it makes Palpatine's manipulation of Anakin more powerful. He was so convinced that he had twisted him that he was willing to put his life on the line. Mace on the other hand didn't really trust Anakin (rightfully so).
- it mirrors Episode VI: Luke was a legit goner until Vader stepped in. Palpatine was dead meat until Anakin stepped in. It gives power to Anakin being the chosen one, it's not so much about him putting a bullet in anyone's head but the force swings wherever he wants it to go. If he's unbalanced so is the force, and the he corrects it and Episode VI nicely ties up the Saga.

I mean, I could go on but I don't want to derail Dorian's thread which celebrates Windu the Gawd already :blessed:
