Treon Harris was good enough to put up 28 on LSU, to beat Georgia, Vanderbilt, @ South Carolina...en route to the SEC title game...but not good enough to DO NOTHIN to michigan

just a FACT

2 teams that wanted to fire their coach and 2 teams with losing records

In 2014, we had the biggest Offensive Line college or NFL. We lost 5 games. How's that?

Granted part of that was Trevor Knight throwing multiple pick 6's in multiple games, a few kicking errors. But we still got stomped by Baylor and outscored by TCU.

You have to put up alot of points in order to take pressure off ur defense. So if you want to win the Big 12 currently, you have to play like Baylor, TCU, WVU.

Being a conference elite is one thing, but someone will catch you off guard one week and there goes ur entire season.

See I don't think you have to play that way. Back in the early 2000s OU had a defense with multiple 1st and 2nd round talents. Why do teams like Oregon who was always better than TCU/Baylor struggle against Stanford every year and lose to Auburn and them. It's because they can shut it down. Fairley destroyed Oregon. Stanford lines up and runs right at them.

OU should be able to recruit the talent to slow down these offenses and be able to play a balanced offense, remember TCU and Baylor are getting 3 star recruits and doing what they do.

It's all about the trenches, big 12 has small lineman on both sides of the ball. Works for the no defense p*ssy ball in the regular season then get smashed when you play the big boys.

my school Texas Tech has to play this way because they can't recruit like Texas. But now everyone recruiting the same small as players

While Ou has more talent and recruits better then most of the big 12 aside from texas they're around the 20's most years in recruiting rankings which is far from elite. They don't get the same amount of talent they used to

Hell Duke has a better recruiting class then them right now

Bro, you think a big ass 230 lb safety like Roy Williams is surviving in this era? He'd get eaten alive in space in the Big 12. But he was an All-American back then....

You think those 250lb Linebackers we had 10-12 years ago wouldn' get eaten alive in pass coverage over the middle and stretched out by slot receivers now?

This is my point. the early 2000 were different...it's not the same conference anymore. Back then you planned for 1 maybe 2 games a year against a wacky offense....now it's every week.

The spread is designed for lesser talent. ie 2-3 star recruits to take advantage of bigger/stronger opponents. Baylor and TCU are getting 4 star kids as well.

If Auburn played against an Oregon every week for 10 straight weeks, in at least ONE of those games they will get beaten. No matter how dominant they may look in one particular game.

:dahell: Didn't we just have two teams, running a version of a spread offense in last years championship game?

I'm talking basketball on grass, throwing the ball 45-50 times offense that most Big 12 teams run. Obviously teams like Oregon and tOSU have bruiser backs and that can gash you.

Theres a huge difference between the size and types of players in a rich Rodriguez spread and an urban Meyer spread, for example.

:jbhmm: I wasn't aware Rich was involved in the NC last year.
