As someone who isn't a fan of The Batman and thinks he should take a break i welcome this news.

It's a great film no doubt, but there isn't an original thought in it.

It melds some of the worst aspects of Nolan/Synder Batman into one film that basically a Dollar Tree David Fincher film with some of the greatest cinematography in a comic book film.

All these "theories" in here with little to no information.... Why is Reeves not finished with the script? Who knows. Reeves is a perfectionist so you already know he's not just gonna throw some bullshyt out there to appease anyone. He hasn't missed on a movie yet.

Yea they killing him for this response. Most the ones he mentioned started off as one offs with no planned sequels. Cameron waited so long for Avatar 2 because he was waiting for technology to do what he wanted. Alien/Aliens also had a bunch of legal drama in between the two that caused the delay.
He mentions his own movies GotG2/3 but he did another movie in between those and Vol 3 wouldve been out sooner if he didnt get fired from Marvel. The time between GotG/GotG 2 was 3 years.

Batman was made and announced with a sequel already in mind.

DCU has nothing to do with this. Reeves stuff is Elseworlds. I also doubt Gunn would toss Reeves under the bus if DCU shyt is the reason for the delay.
Delay is most likely Reeves not being ready(Grain of salt and all, but twitter bullshyt saying he going thru divorce) and Pattinson doing the Nolan movie because Reeves still isnt done with the script.

Seems EW just mistakenly paraphrased some shyt. I dont see an actual quote of what Reeves said, just EW paraphrasing what Gunn said.
Also there is a script, just not a fully turned in one. Gunn said he hasnt seen a script but Reeves has turned in parts of a script to WB.
Where are you seeing that Batman 2 will be apart of Elseworlds? Only thing we saw was that rumor that Gunn wanted Pattinson to be his DCU batman. That can happen with Reeves stuff still being elseword and Gunn going a different route with Pattinson as batman.

Gunn made a good point there and "GOTG vol. 2" isn't the greatest example of how quick turnaround goes well because that was by far the weakest of the trilogy

There's not a full script yet? That's interesting. It sounds like there may be creative differences between Reeves and corporate.

Because the interviewer was trash. What's more likely, the interviewer misheard Reeves when he said he turned in parts of the script to WB or they trying to make Reeve's trilogy part of DCU when it's been reported it's Elsewords from Day 1.

What you are saying doesnt even make sense. They have their own plans for DCU Batman already with Brave and the Bold. So are you saying there will be two batmans in the DCU?

If they cancel the Brave and the Bold, then I can see them absorbing Reeves shyt. Until then it seems unlikely
