Either Reeves hasn't been able to move the story forward to a greater height or they are going to put this into the DCU.

I can't think of any other reason that Dune and this came out the same year and Dune will finish it's trilogy BEFORE this sequel comes out

Seems to be Reeves. Also Colin already said Penguin will have 5-6 scenes in Batman 2 and he is contracted for Batman 3. So probably no major changes with him for Batman 2's scenes imo.

Either that or Gunn is trying to “Blade” this movie and it’s never released.

Either way The “young Bruce Wayne/early Batman”’concept is surely dead. They are going to have age Bruce up if a “Batman 2” is released.

DCU has nothing to do with this. Reeves stuff is Elseworlds. I also doubt Gunn would toss Reeves under the bus if DCU shyt is the reason for the delay.
Delay is most likely Reeves not being ready(Grain of salt and all, but twitter bullshyt saying he going thru divorce) and Pattinson doing the Nolan movie because Reeves still isnt done with the script.

Gunn is doing things differently to avoid a Phase 4 situation. Normally, scripts do not have to be expressly "100% done" for big films... for example I'm pretty sure Godzilla x Kong was not completely written when it started preproduction. And I'm 99.9% sure Sony NEVER asked for 100% for them dogshyt Marvel movies they put out. This is partly conjecture on my part though.

When you do this you're essentially taking a risk on the quality of the movie and ease of production, sometimes it's OK cause audiences don't give af with the brand. Reeves did not have Batman 1 script done before pre pro... because it's fukking Batman.. people are going to go see it. I believe the 3rd act was not fully written at the time, they handed it off to someone else...

Now he's finding out Gunn ain't bout the bullshyt. At the same time, Gunn may find out that this strategy doesn't work if Warner starts asking where the cash at.. Who knows.. but there's a reason why scripts are not always 100% done.. and it's mostly financial. It's not really Reeves fault.
