Tailoring means your Resume has to MATCH EXACTLY some of the language in the job announcement.

The same can be said for non-fed jobs. Use white text if need be.

For example

here's one line

Literally put - "cradle to grave" in your resume.

I don't know if you still use Chat GPT to take your resume and combine it with the Job Listing, but I most definitely would.

Yup, I tell people to use the announcement to spice up their resume. They need to incorporate some of the wording into their resume, but don't make it obvious

Also, do a job search for specific titles. They'll see a common theme for required skills and or similar buzz words to use

Yeah, the 100k a year profession requires all kinds of hostile situations that can get you sued, jailed, killed 24/7

At least, any private sector job.
This is true

Companies aren’t just handing out 100k+ salaries to people without that being the case.

You’re not gonna get the skills needed to demand that type of job by being “comfortable”.

The thing about these gold rush fields is that the more people get in to them, the more the value declines. 10-15 years ago, knowing how to code/develop was like writing yourself a blank check. Just having the basic knowledge could land you a six figure job. Now tech companies are laying off developers in droves and now they're all competing heavily for an increasingly smaller pool of opportunities.

At the end of the day, there's no magical field that will have you set for life. Every field can land you in financial instability if too people are going after it. Combine that with companies wanting to use AI to replace workers and it's increasingly getting scary out there.
I'm just at the point where I'm tired of wearing down my body at jobs. My side job is physical too plus I'm working out when I can. Just doesn't feel suitable. Appreciate you breaking it down like this breh

A lot of this is true.

Regarding the bolded: many of their parents already work in these fields and teach their kids as well. They learn Critical Thinking skills, Math and Science from actual Engineers and Scientists as parents compared to other kids who have elementary school teachers that struggled with remedial Math teaching them.

The rich get richer.

That's why this is a very worrying exponential problem if you fall behind. I said it in the other thread.

I work with these cats, and I don't know about all of that.

Critical Thinking Skills
- I typically find them remembering every rule and just applying already created rules to problems where it doesn't fit.

Asians Ams are not monolithic - A lot of this first generation are the first to go to college and the first professionals in their family. So you have a lot of top level academic achievement coming out of families of fisherman and food makers. Parents don't even speak English, much less be able to explain the ins and outs of the Krebs cycle.

Those Chem Engineering girls you posted about a few weeks back are not the norm. You'll find that type of specific generational knowledge in every demographic.

That said, the ones I went to school with, 1/2 were children of peasants, the other 1/2 were children of doctors and engineers. I had to compete with both sets in high school and college. (I won't mention rampant cheating "collective studying")

But the rich do get richer.

It depends on what comes with that 100k job for some nikkas...... if you getting paid just for your skillset, then that's gravy.... but if you gotta play corporate games in a 90 percent white environment to maintain that job, a lot of bullshyt stress can come along with that..... a lot of nikkas don't even like being in a corporate environment

Nothing is ever perfect.

$100k can be stressful but so can $20/hr.

Alot of fake personas on here claiming to be 6 feet and earning millions of dollars, when the reality is the vast majority of americans can afford a 1000dollar emergency expenditure because of little to no savings, people are living pay check to paycheck , how about we start being real and telling the truth as grown men again and stop this fake nonsense. Real ones getting it out the mud can know what it feels like

40k is roughly 20 an hour iirc not great but also not terrible . College is cool but I would encourage people to look into trades . Good money and always in demand. Don't be fooled by that blue collar stigma
college is great
trades are great

at the end of the day you gotta choose something or get left behind.

im pretty much guaranteed a certain standard of income with he college degree and experience at this point.
