In a circular issued on Wednesday and seen by the Financial Times, the Nansha District housing and urban-rural construction bureau in the southern city of Guangzhou asked an Evergrande subsidiary to put presale revenue from Sunshine Peninsula, a stalled residential development, into a state-controlled custodial account so that “homebuyers’ interest can be protected and project construction continued"

Their freezing all of their assets so that projects can be finished, And their saying to hell with creditors. China is doing for us what no American entity will do.

The Wanda ordeal makes much more sense now.

It defies logic. AMC has been turning a consistent profit, debt has been restructured, several new ways to generate more revenue, several acquisitions, public sentiment, high profile partnerships.

unless the price starts going up I doubt many more people are hopping in. Most of us are just holding we need new money.

Low volume is part of the cycle the longer we hold the more risky/costly their positions become. We are just waiting for that risk/cost to be too much for some of them. Then Fomo will kick in and we are off to the races again.

Overall market still in the midst of a significant dip due to China, Covid and economic uncertainty. AMC took that hit with it.

When the market recovers we will see some more institutional buying of AMC which could be enough to get us started.

That’s been their play, just wait to find equilibrium. A point where most are already bought in and no new money is flying into this. Then from there they can just manage it with the dark pool manipulations. Genslar, the SEC needs to do something or that margin call needs to happen. Otherwise we are in a stalemate situation
