I can admit that cars like these are kinda dangerous in cities like NYC

When you got little hasidic jewish kids darting out into the street OUTSIDE of the crosswalk (I only bring this up because I drive a regular size sedan and this almost happened to me in Williamsburg/Bushwick just last week Saturday night), nutty ass cyclists who think they're Lance Armstrong in his prime, and motherfukkers in general who just can't stop looking at their phone while crossing the street, it CAN be dangerous because you might not be able to see them and they definitely ain't paying attention.

right, there's always another country that did it better. but i'm just trying to see how this works here with the government we have (who are never held accountable) and the voters we have (people who'd vote out obamacare, a plan that benefitted them, because they don't like no damn socialist). i'm always for better, but i need practical examples of how america makes this happen, not other countries that are more homogenous, smaller, have stricter governments or have a history of being further left than the us.
