A number of Black Americans also mark themselves as multi-racial on the census.20 million Brazilians describe themselves as “Black” according to their last census.
Mi no black papiiiiiii
I think it's funny when they talk about slavery in regards to Saudi and Yemen, but not western nations....
Mind you as someone that has been to Saud, a good amount of those people considered black have ties dating back centuries where families have made hajj and never left the peninsula
Cuba too.The Dominican Republic is not on the list?
Numbers don''t sound right BUT it's interesting that the "pan-Africanists" don't emphasis us working with Black Brazilians.
It’s from using US racial standards.
I know Brazil’s shyt gets complicated so I don’t really know what numbers to really consider.
Something doesn't sound right about the numbers, especially for Brazil. Brazil has roughly 200 million people; 115 million black people sounds a bit high
SBrazil does not have 115 million black people.
You can say there’s 115 million Afro-descendants but not all of them would describe themselves as “Black”.
This list isnt per capita, so it doesnt reflect the actual percentage, just hard numbers.
Which is why Saudi Arabia and Yemen would be higher than Jamaica and Brazil and the US higher than Haití even though those are 2 predominantly Black countries
This would cause even more outrageJudging by the comments, would the Brazilian numbers be easier to accept if the heading was "of African descent"?
