Failure at certain things may be a good thing. Hope he learned from his mistakes and knows what not to do next time.

If his skills are that bad a few youtube tutorials should set him right.i cant tell ya how many recipes ive learn or improved upon just by watching videos

IDK about that

BBQ is one of the few things where a video can't help you. Different grills/smokers, different wood/charcoal, diff temps, diff types of ribs, diff rubs/sprays.....any one of those things change and the outcome is wildly different.

BBQ is a skill not many people can do. Alot of people THINK they can do it, but they quickly find out that shyt aint as simple as following a recipe.

when he tried to eat that rib :mjlol:

...

shyt takes practice; he bit off more than he could chew for a rookie.

Gotta master a burger before chicken.

Once chicken is mastered only THEN and THEN ONLY; can you step up to ribs.

This is the way.

Only then can you rightfully be the man of the house.

:usure: Brisket is what separates the men from the boys :myman:

That's why my family only allows certain members to grace the grill whenever we have a cookout, just like during the holidays or special occasions some of the family are tasked with preparing and cooking specific dishes.

Exactly, and it's not even a debate :mjlol:

It may not help the guy be a pitmaster, but it would teach him not to make that monstrosity of food he just made

I agree, time and trial and error is the best way to learn if ypu dont got a skilled cook teachin you. But watching vods when your clueless from experts aint a bad start

I’ve got some brisket in the freezer, I’ve been scared to do it, I don’t want to mess it up.

Yeah it can be a hell of an L. Your first one can be charged to the game :heh:

It's a lot of work to get it right but once you do you're in business and it is easy to do going forward

Cooking is the ultimate trial and error. I cook a ridiculous duck breast but served one undercooked once (even for duck) on a dinner date, it was tough to overcome with her :sadcam:
kids will look you straight in the eye and hit you with the :scust: even though you spent hours on the grill lmao
