Because only people like me were around to witness it and those who are my age dont fukk with Hip Hop messageboards like that.

We were waiting for Grant Hill to be the next Jordon he was hyped up to be while sleeping on Kobe.

they hyped up kobe way harder than they did grant hill breh. it was sickening.
and this was before kobe was even that nice. he was getting outdone by a grip of players from his draft, and wasn't even starting for the lakers yet.

but yea, I understand the bias towards earlier eras of hip-hop. I just make sure I point it out at every chance I get.

I got some heat in my collection that I uploaded to Youtube

Here's the opening of BET Rap City where they acknowledge the passing of Biggie the day after he died (I had the MTV News Special Report on his death uploaded but Youtube took it down)

Peep this Yo! MTV Raps top singles and album coundown list. Who remembers that Yo! MTV came on Thursdays at 8PM for an hour and Fridays at 11PM for 2 hours. Then on Saturdays it was often some kind of special video coundown

Snoop Dogg & Daz hosting Yo! MTV two months after Pac died

Rare 2Pac interview on the set of "2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted" explaining the Biggie disses lol

Dr. Dre hosting his personal top 25 favorite videos on MTV after leaving Death Row

Here's the Tavis Smiley Show on BET the day after Biggie died with guests KRS-One, Willie D, Chuck D, Nonchalant & Cheo Coker. Dope if anybody wants to see how everyone was uncertain and scared about the direction that hip-hop seemed to be going. Amazing how so much hasn't changed.

Chuck D explaining how the non-Black execs profit off of the hip-hop violence

Them talking about the generational divide (sounds like right now)

Am I the only one here who was not impressed with the De La Soul "Stakes is High" Album?
