'96-'97 was a period when music had me:mindblown: consistently. Just dope music left and right with a variety of different sounds.

Im sorry but This thread is a really bad case of nostalgia.
In this school year Biggie and 2Pac were Both Murdered.
This was a relatively somber year musically. Bitter sweet at best.

honestly, I'm sorry that people died but life went on breh.

most people didn't know those guys personally, and they weren't the end-all, be-all like theyre made out to be.

some people were sorta glad that they died.:yeshrug:

This school year was not that impressive release wise actually compared to what was bout to pop and and the year or two before.

what school year that came afterwards, was better than this one in terms of releases?

96 was MY year. Music was on point on all genres, sexing like no tomorrow, Beavis and Butt Head feature film, People seemed realer to me back then. Just a great time to be alive.

:salute:

"beavis & butthead do America" is still one of my favorite movies to this day.

I remember me & my best friend from K-8, went to the theater & saw it during Christmas break.

ESPN report on if Kobe & Jermaine O'Neal were too young to come into the NBA. You see at the start of this that Kobe is where Lebron got the line "I've decided to take my talents to ____" from.
:mjlol: at Jerry West & Phil Jackson saying they don't want and don't like players leaving from HS

they weren't exactly wrong tho.

when the floodgates opened, most of the high school players were underachievers or busts in the nba. the one-and-done rule worked out well for the league.

even Jermaine O'Neal was a slow burn. and kobe was lucky to fall into the perfect situation.

I think the main reason most of y'all like this year musically is because it's the last year of non Southern dominance.

The upcoming years there will be a point of no return when No Limit and the meteoric rise of the dirty South influences or just outright dominated Hip Hop.

the south was great back then.

it didn't become annoying until the industry started force-feeding all those retard rappers circa 2003.
