Tesla is a car company that developed tech mostly centered around cars collects data related to driving cars and has branched into home energy.

Google is a tech and data company. Tesla is not.

fine, have it your way, but the point is the stock price is based on the idea that over the long term the tech and data is more valuable than the cars, thats why its not correct to compare it other car companies

I just went ahead and got some amazon stock and something vantage and they gave me some free stock I never heard of.

In 5-7 days or whatever I’ll be able to invest what I originally wanted to do with Tesla.

thats fine, you can buy tsla later after the split and also nflx

It makes long term investing easy, since there’s only one or two buy / sell trading windows. A lot of people in the boiler room thread have a preference for it.

here’s an example of my most successful account.
M1 Finance - Free Automated Investing

It’s up 79% this quarter.
smh should have went with this instead of e trade :unimpressed:

how did you learn how to play options and how much risk is there to doing it?

I’ve literally learned from losing money which is a great teacher, but their are definitely better alternatives such as actually learning technical analysis fundamentals, Greeks, and having a feel for the market.

If you don’t know what you’re doing the odds are worse than the typical casino odds. If you do know what you’re doing the odds are the exactly the same as a casino. (Unless you really, really and I mean REALLY know what you’re doing.)

Not to mention they are into energy now. Cars is going to be the main selling point but their software and energy components will end up being just as important.
I have this theory that Elon is trying to use cosmic energy and kick start the new fuel race

Yeah the TTM PE ratio is over 1000. You have to pay $1000 for every dollar the company earns in profit. That's insane.

absolute lunacy

but speculation is still a way to make money if you know what you are doing.....but buying high and selling higher is a strategy you can use if its money you dont need and can afford to lose or can afford to wait to recover through pendulum swings in price

I will buy the Tesla when the other funds transfer...

with this app I’m assuming I can keep buying into stocks week after week.

yeah so what you want to do is get at least 2K in, then you will be able to apply for a margin account (which is basically a loan with your stocks as collateral) and also apply for options

so i would recommend having your amz, ,tsla, nflx etc as your base, meaning never selling them and continuing to add to them and then use your margin and options to get into riskier stocks

Lol, I really do love this Market.. nah I don't.

My thoughts on Telsa have been the same since it hit 600 pre covid crash.

Love the company
Neutral on the CEO
Hate the Valuation
Hate the cult even more.

Tesla owners looking for love can now join a dating network exclusively for 'like-minded Elon stans'

Anyway....

Q2 2020 Revs For Tesla: 5.2B
Net Income: 100 Million
Market Cap: 378B
Net Margin: 1.92%

Q2 2020 Revs for Walmart 134.5B
Net Income: 3.9B
Market Cap: 369.7B
Net margin: 2.9%

Q2 2020 revs for Visa 4.84B
Net Income: 2.37B:whoo:
Market Cap: 434 B
Net margin: 49% :ehh:

shyt, i know growth >>> value in the general market the last few decades but shyt... It's actually funny, i just did a seminar at GS a few weeks ago and the dude who did the Tesla valuation was doing a Q&A.... Obvi every had question and first was regarding the price. It' was trading at 1600 and their valuation was 1300 if i remember correctly.... Anyway, dude could hardly look into the camera and with a funny ass grin was like "yeah well assuming 20% y/y growth, drastic changes to their margin, and with a 3.5% perpetuity( This number should NEVER be over 2%) we have Tesla a 1300 so yeah it's over valued (mind you all the assumptions were pretty much best case scenario).

Do what you will, but in my opinion the risk/reward is trash, even if it hits 3k by end of month :yeshrug:

It really is a meme stock.
