Sky net sends a T-1000 back to kill Sarah Conner as a child because its previous attempts to get rid of her and her son failed. She is saved by a reprogrammed T-850(old Arnold in the trailer) who was keeping her safe since her family was murdered by the T 1000. Years later the Kyle Reese and the original T-800 from the T1 timeline arrive as they were originally planned to arrive even though the timeline had been altered due to Sarah growing up with no family and a machine as a protector. Sarah Conner already knows about the coming war and all future attempts on her life probably because the T 850 filled her in. So she saves Kyle Reese because he will not be prepared for a T1000. Sky net knew Reese would destroy the T800 so they skipped a step and sent the 1000.

Seems like a cluster fukk of alternate realities.

That ridiculous nonsensical answer from Cameron doesn't change the fact that Arnold looks really bad in this...Cameron was just doing damage control because he knows there was no way people were expecting a 75 year old terminator to be created by a group of rebels

What I mean is, he doesn't look convincing as a Terminator at all! I mean he's huffing and puffing in the trailer and they're trying to sell him as an action hero but Arnold can't do it as convincingly as Liam Neeson, Bruce Willis or Denzel. He looks like he's about one kill away from falling apart. They should of just computer generated him like they did with Kevin Bridges character in the Tron sequel.
