Ill also settle for AOC crushing him in a landslide.

The thing these guys don't understand is that the precedents they set can be used against them. If the supreme court decides "official acts" are legal, Cortez can become president, order a hit on Trump and if her policies are popular she runs two more times, wins, and continues to undo all the damage Trump caused. He's setting the stage where something like that--no matter how improbable--is still POSSIBLE.
AOC ain't winning shyt

These politicians live long lives. They have their own personal dedicated doctors. He's going to be here for awhile.

He can suggest it, but it would need to be ratified by the states for the change to go through. They do not have the numbers to do that.

"The amendment process is very difficult and time consuming: A proposed amendment must be passed by two-thirds of both houses of Congress, then ratified by the legislatures of three-fourths of the states."

That means he would need 38 states to get this through. Since 19 states went Democratic, there is no way to get this ratified and it is really an empty proposal. He also does not have the numbers in the Senate to even get it to the states, since he would need 66 Senators to support it too.

It's a tall order but you would be surprised

Of those 19, (he won 32 states btw) how many have conservative legislative bodies? There are a few in there like Michigan (as an example top of mind). He only needs 5 on top of the states he already won, he is closer than you think :beli:

He needs 66 Senaters too. So he has to get past two humps. I have not looked at the ratio in The House, so it may be he does not even have the numbers to get past them either.

Edit: Just looked it up. The House is 218 Republicans and 215 Democrats. He does not even have the numbers in The House to get this through. Remember, he needs 2/3rds of Both the House and Senate to get it moved to the States for ratification. So yea, you can be afraid of this if you want, but I know they are no where near the point where I have to fear anything.

To help stave off any possibility that this will happen, the Democrats need to be out there campaigning to take more seats in both halves of Congress.

He won 32 states in the national election. There are a couple blue states with red legislatures, he only needs an additional 5. That’s not that many.
He won 31 states against an unpopular opponent. Most importantly the vote for state ratification isn't by citizens it is made by State legislatures, so the Republicans don't have the numbers.
