Leroy looks like trash to me. His design as an "old" black man ruins him, i think it was done on purpose, and is an obvious trick card, don't know why though? Maybe Harada thought he wouldn't be popular, but it screws him over for sequel potential as he's the only "new" character that's old. Where does he go from here? It's not like Heihachi or even Wang were he has history, He was introduced old and scarred, at the end of the Tekken 7's life cycle as DLC, and PS5 about to come out. Dude is going to have no character development/relations. He looks like a one and done character and easy to remove next game. Why bother learning him?

This is a weird post. You didn't have to add in the end you don't play Tekken. Age doesn't matter in Tekken and the story has been mediocre since T4. Barely any character has seen progression since then. Paul has even regressed as a character since then. None of that is a priority over gameplay unless you're playing fighting games for the story, in which case you shouldn't be playing fighting games seriously. T4-T7 happen in the same year canonically. Lili and Asuka have been 16-17 for fifteen irl years. This is a game with literal bears an octopus alien swordsman who changes forms every iteration.

Leroy will be back for T8. This is the most well received new design Tekken has had and he practices a martial art that is unrepresented in the franchise. He has specific mechanics that no one else can do. They aren't throwing him into the garbage after all of this work. You are in the minority of people who don't think his design is great, and you don't play Tekken. You would bother playing Leroy because you 1) play Tekken and 2) like him. That's it. You can still learn legacy skills like movement and punishment from characters who don't return in future iterations.

Ganryu has a fighting style that is completely unrepresented in Tekken and that's what the design team is going for. fukkman isn't even out yet and you're calling him Lars 2.0. Since you don't play Tekken, you'll never even know how he functions. The worst kind of game criticism is from people who don't even play the product they're bytching about.

Tekken is as popular as it ever was right now except for maybe the tekken 3 days.

He's got what I like . Impactful moves. Hands. Low pokes. A damn near invisible low sweep into a strike. A variety of finishes off launcher.

And he says b00m when he hits you impactfully.....



I went to practice mode and was stunned at how dope the moves looked.

At first glance he looks like Wang Jinrei part 2 with 10× greater animations and additional tools.. On vacation until Monday, cant wait to fight him

Played a little bit of Ganryu for the first time ever. He's got Bear inputs like UF1+2 belly flop that safely transitions into a low profile stance, can manually enter the stance with 3+4, has a headbutt and a tail spin that can be used in combo just like HBS d1+2/df11. Gonna try to pick him up.
