if the company posts an opening, they should already know what value that position brings to the company. LOL it's not the person who interviewed and got the job to figure it out. This is why y'all be so sad when layoffs because YOU determined you had value and they determined you did not. Do you jobs, get your skills, let them figure it out.
Don’t be flippant with peoples lives. If u don’t have any worthwhile advise (that isn’t wrapped in a cloak of holier than thou), just keep quiet.

Some FABs are about ti be built in Ohio and Arizona but majority if the work force there will be asian (TSMC is Taiwanese owned and Intel is just India 2.0)

That's at least something. We outsourced so much shyt that we're not self sustaining anymore, as a country, from a production standpont. We need to change that ASAP.

There's a high likelihood a lot of them gonna have to move to places like GA, CO, NC or VA.

Cause that west coast logjam ain't gonna work.
I hire these people, most are surprisingly already in the cheaper mode west living in shacks to send boat loss of money back home while also paying their Corp visa holder on some new age indentured servitude shyt

yeah folks don't understand Big Tech is the ELITE of the ELITE. TECH in general has a shortage of workers, and Big Tech employees aren't trying to 'downgrade' and work for Non Tech companies who don't even give bonuses let alone RSUs
Y’all think only big tech hired like crazy? How cute. Many layoffs coming to a tech firm near you. Not just big tech. Already saw layoffs outside of big tech companies.

Actually, no. The money is in what we call C2C in recruitment where a bunch of small mom and pop “corps” hold these visas and whore out Dupinders and Maneesh to companies for 6 months to a year before their H1B lottery hits EAD status. ALL Companies never want to sponsor an H1B themselves as it is EXPENSIVE as fk. So they let the corps handle that and then either take the tax hit for working with a more expensive option of an H1B worker or choosing someone else with a much cheaper authorization status.
Why bother with the visas? Go C2C & keep it domestic.

Companies aren’t sponsoring en masse, it’s mom and pop Corp to Corp shops getting people from India here and then making them work for their small Corp whoring out the foreigners skills for a time until the H1B lottery converts them to ead status where they walk from the Corp and get hired direct to work for whomever they want on green card status. That whole ordeal can take several years where the Corp has made a couple hundred thousand off that person in the meantime.

Why Google certs specifically? I was thinking about getting my CCNA and CISSP instead but I really want to know why you said Google certs.
These are random certs.

What do you want to focus on? If it’s security look at just developing tools and get a GitHub page especially with your programming knowledge.

Or do a cloud developer course. I work with Azure and having PowerShell, Python and KQL knowledge is great. Amazon and their offering is also just as good.

Is it mainly non technical IT jobs that are getting cut or what? Large companies or all around?

Hearing things happen like this so often in the IT space makes it frustrating to hear. Seems like IT jobs aren’t as secure as people expect them to be.

Not only are they not secure but you’re constantly having to obtain new certificates, to be as marketable as possible. Some people get it. Some dont. This ain’t the way to live.
