Sometimes I consider this.

I learned how to protect corporate interests, I know how to crack them too

:wow:
I sat on the phone with the recruiter for a half our.

:wow:

He knew I was interested in these kinds of roles based on my profile/resume, we hit it off decently
so bro started shooting me his homies resumes to model my next move after :banderas:
Then he started dropping game, :whoo:

One dude he knows :damn: is running the contractor game to the tune of $260k/yr. :damn:

They keep asking bro to come on as a full time employee but he'd take an $80k cut, so he stays a contractor :pachaha:

IF that opportunity falls in your lap in the near future, I say take it

I'm most likely going to model my path around Tech Skillsets but stay near the public sector.
I want to max out my income as much as possible prior to trying to jump into the cutthroat world of tech.

From what I've heard tech is no joke and the competition is crazy, CRAZY high.

If you going for the MAAMA companies yea it’s highly competitive. You can still get good tech roles with good pay, with companies that are tech adjacent that are not crazy competitive.

Yall brehs gonna stay in tech or thinking about pivoting? Not much job security especially with agents on the way

I have shifted towards investing. I can't handle the grind of constant learning anymore. I am hoping I can work in security compliance for a decade and hopefully my investment take over

@JT-Money @JLova

Not sure why anybody still entertains companies who constantly layoff employees. I guess the company's name recognition is too good to pass up?

Tech giants like Microsoft and Salesforce have announced layoffs, expecting to continue cutting jobs in 2025.

People desperate for a job.
Lots of younger tech workers tend to gravitate toward Big name companies. I constantly see them commenting online about it. And even saw it up close attending college job fairs on behalf of my employer. If you're company wasn't well known you had to beg students to visit your booth. Despite the fact my company rarely had any layoffs.

Companies do the same thing by only recruiting from certain colleges. Now companies only want workers on immigration visas. I tell young people to just pick a different career tech isn't worth it anymore.

This is true. I started out with IBM. Regular layoffs

Young folk get lured by the state of the art offices, free food and their little trinkets that don’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things.

I agree that tech is not worth it.
