For those in the job market, how long is it taking to hear back from jobs you have applied to. I have made a lot of applications, I haven't heard back yet.

I'm curious to hear that. I put in about 10 applications about 3 weeks ago. One replied three days later with some follow up questions and then stated that once the posting date is over they'll narrow down the candidates and then get back to me. That's the only one I've heard anything back from.

‘How long can you stare at your wife?’: L&T chairman SN Subrahmanyan wants employees to work on Sundays too, sparks outrage

"What do you do sitting at home? Go to the office and start working," Subrahmanyan said in a leaked internal video. He cited a conversation about Chinese workers' 90-hour weeks versus Americans' 50 hours to justify the stance.

Where Luigi at? He needs to get back to his passion..... :demonic:

Microsoft rules out layoffs in India amid global job cuts

Software giant Microsoft has no plans to lay off employees in its India operations, senior company officials have said amid reports that the company is cutting a small percentage of jobs across departments globally.

“No, not in India,” Puneet Chandok, President, Microsoft India and South Asia, told businessline when asked about the reports of job cuts.

“We are engaged in so many projects. In fact, for all of India, more jobs are being created,” Chandok added.

:dead: We gon' cut jobs just not in india :whoa: they're too important :whoa:

:pachaha:
Yeah, I might have to stay in the public sector or in things adjacent to the public sector
because cutting all of the jobs stateside to ship em off to india is feeling like the first wave of sending
manufacturing off to Japan/Korea/China/Indonesia.

:snoop:
Either that or throw all of this education and experience in the garbage and go into medicine. :pachaha:

I thought about going into medicine but I would have to do damn near everything over, which it’s possible but I don’t know where I would even find the money to do that

I wanted to go to Cuba to go to school for free but I’m over the age threshold

Honestly, there's always the HPSP, the military has a whole program.

For every year they pay, you serve a year.

Lots of opportunities to rotate into internal medicine but the more competitive stuff is practically impossible
to get into and I've also heard of racism for (Black) Military docs.

There's another youtube video of an Airforce doctor who detailed all of his poor experiences in the medical field.
If I can find it, I'll post it.

found it:

The (regular) path is highly expensive and the opportunity cost may not be worth it, if you're already making good money.
Trading ~7 years @ $120k+ is a HUGE loss ($840,000) but if you can get some kind of scholarships or something, whether it's
military or otherwise, I think it's worth it when the baseline afterwards will $250k+

But yeah, I'm going all in on Engineering for a little while longer but if I can't break that glass ceiling, I'm going into
medicine and calling it a day. :pachaha:

A friend of mine contacted me about a req their company is building. It will definitely pay more than what I'm making now, but my current manager is a brotha which I never had in my career. I'm interviewing but I may just use it as leverage to get more money in my current role instead
