There's literally not one single Democrat running for office that hasn't made policy towards African Americans and protecting civil rights a major part of their platform. As if a demographic that already votes abysmally is gonna get something for votinv even less. 50% of black adults eligible to vote and register do so. Serious question: are reparations going to make us come together and practice black economics to make us a strategic competing group for our own special interests and agenda solely for black people involving socioeconomic and political uplift or will we fight for reparations to do more of the same as we've been doing since 1968?

What good is reparations if we aren't presently united to have our own as others do with money in their communities?

To suggest its sexism and not roughly sixty years of democratic policy that has ultimately been the undoing of black America that black men are not voting for a black female democratic candidate now is nonsense. This piece clearly has an agenda given post-CRM history; having read about the reason for certain plays during the mid 60s and early 70s, I wouldn't vote democrat either after seeing the effects of doing so this long. It hasn't yielded any positive long-term results that have strengthened the black community to act in ways other groups do. I’m not an advocate of cash payments for reparations, if it happens cool but there’s not enough money they could or would pay us. I’m for things like free higher education, not paying taxes, land,etc. I honestly know reparations aren’t happening in any of our life times.It’s just a issue pushed to the forefront by Republican strategists used to fool the ignorant among us into voting against our own interest if we don’t get “tangibles”
